I don't need specific ages if you don't want, but maybe a general idea e.g. 'when I was in my teens'
What provoked that belief? Did you just suddenly 'feel' it? Or did you read the Bible or something?

Damian - Thanks. But that whole site is choc a block with emotive language. It is clearly propaganda. The facts may be straight, but if they are it should be portrayed in a way to actually highlight the facts, rather than try to change people's ideas.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

I started to believe more deeply by listening to Pastor Mark Finley and then after that Pastor Doug Batchelor who brought the message across and tickled my mind to start questioning and searching the Bible for myself.

Here are a few things I have found out about it:

Bible predictions of things to happen in the future confirm the inspiration of Scripture as they come to pass. Notice the following examples of fulfilled Bible prophecies:

A. Four world empires to arise: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8).
B. Cyrus to be the warrior to capture Babylon (Isaiah 45:1-3).
C. After Babylon's destruction, it would never be inhabited again (Isaiah 13:19, 20; Jeremiah 51:37).
D. Egypt would never again have a commanding position among the nations (Ezekiel 29:14, 15; 30:12, 13).
E. Earth-shaking calamities and fear toward the end of time (Luke 21:25, 26).
F. Moral degeneracy and decline of spirituality in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

The 66 books of the Bible were written:
1. On three continents.
2. In three languages.
3. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, scientists, attorneys, an army general, fishermen, priests, and a physician).
4. Over a period of about 1,500 years.
5. On the most controversial subjects.
6. By people who, in most cases, had never met.
7. By authors whose education and background varied greatly.

Yet, though it seems totally inconceivable,
1. The 66 books maintain harmony with each other.
2. Often new concepts on a subject are expressed, but these concepts do not undermine what other Bible writers say on the same subject.

First time, during RE lessons in Catholic school, until I decided Confirmation wouldn't be suitable. Spent the next 30 years trying to be an aethiest, though I always thought there might be some form of "Supreme Power".

This time, about six years ago, my room-mate persuaded me to go to church "as something to do". Realised it was The Right Thing To Do.

And yes, it's a "feeling" more than a logical deduction. I read the Bible, but for background rather than inspiration. I's probably true to say I'm a Christian in spite of the Bible-quoters and the like rather than because of them.

at the same time as i turned right into a baby I attended church and Sunday college, extra to slot in with my acquaintances then something. My mom became presented up a Christian and at the same time as she did not ram it down our throats, she became delighted we gave it a attempt. After a couple of minutes (very few months) I had realised that the church and the sermons made me question further and extra and, under no circumstances having any solid perception contained in the first position, i determined it wasn't for me. I left the church, refused to move decrease back - what became the point when I did not have self belief a note of it? hence my answer rather is - under no circumstances, although that i became open to the perception at one time. Now, atheist and staying that way.

When I was young. The reason I believed it was because I thought about it and I relized the truth, God is real, life is so complex that nothing else can explain it. He sent His Son to die for our sins. We all have missed up, we all need someone to stand for us before the rightous judge, and that person is Jesus Christ.

As an adult, the Lord touched my life. The Holy Spirit touched me and from then on it is History. It is like falling in love. You want to know more, to feel more and to be more and better for your loved one.

Keep the "doors and windows" of your mind open, and do not hesitate to doubt or question HIS existence, no matter what the name or form you choose.
That's how I found "God". One who is mine own and bears no semblance to any description of his in any of the existing scriptures in any part of the world.
