I capitalized "THE" because there isn't just a single 10 that everyone agrees are "THE" Ten.

Please list what you consider to be "THE" Ten Commandments.

If man evolved from apes and monkeys, why are there still apes and monkeys?

I personally reject the notion of a God that expects us to believe a religion that has obvious flaws, without revealing himself directly to us.

The Catholic Church oppreses women, condones pedophilia by priests, campaigns against condom use, even as AIDS spreads.
They also change their mind every few hundred years about whether Jesus was divine, Mary was a virgin, etc...

Why would God not reveal himself directly to us, so that all of us can be saved? Are we really supposed to follow the church I just mentioned? Would God really expect us to with all the hypocracy?

When I used to go to church, we always heard the parable of the ten minas (coins) Luke 19, but I just re read it and realised that every time I've heard it, the last verse has been omitted. Verse 27 says: [jesus said] "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be a king over them - bring them here and kill them in front of me."

Now you can understand why I'm slightly confused, not a very jesusy thing to say is it? Can someone explain a) why he said this (i looked up the context in my mums study bible, but this verse is ignored entirely, like it doesn't exist) b) why when i used to go to church would they not read this out.

When cain left becouse he was banned, why would he be afraid people would kill him for killing his brother. How did cain meet anyone if there was adom, eve, and him. Where did all the other people come from that he met later in the bible. It doesn't say in the bible, so I guess its a loophole that proves the bible is fake.

Ok, please don't be hating! I was just curious, though, as to how many Protestants on here actually know that Jehovah cannot even be written or said in ancient Hebrew, the language from which your oldest scriptures originate. The name Jehovah is a mistansliteration of Yahweh, the tetragrammaton which means something along the lines of, "I am." I'm a little bit more understanding of why so many Christians use the name Jesus for a man who was ~probably~ called something else, but do so many of you really not know the name of your own God? Or do you think that he didn't try to teach Moses the proper pronunciation, and that's why it had to be changed later on?

So, thoughts on this? It is a respectful question which has bothered me for some time.

Mav wonders, why is it that many of the most 'Christ-like' people here aren't Christian? That really is a sad thing to consider.

The anonymity of Y!A is not an excuse to lose oujr Jesus for awhile, it is a chance for us to SHOW our Jesus in secret.

What are your thoughts?

Ezekiel 4:14,15

14 So I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my mouth.”
15 Then He said to me, “See, I am giving you cow dung instead of human waste, and you shall prepare your bread over it.”

What this? Did God instruct us to spread cow dung on bread? God really said that?

The other day was the 100th anniverary of the passing of my great great grandmother. I was driving down the road and stopped at a crossroads.

All of a sudden a big piece of metal with the words " NO ENTRY" fell on my car. Is it a sign ?

I've just had a believer inform me that "just as we give consequences to our children when they are bad, so God gives us the same." This makes no sense to me, because she makes God sound -- well, human.

Think of it this way:

In the old testement there is the story of the tower of Babel. These people built a ziggurat so high that god thought man would reach heaven so he confused their language to stop the project before they could reach him.

Today i read a question that asked something to the effect of "if we can send people into space don't you think we would have found god?" This question makes a lot of sense... if the bible claims that you can build a tower from the ground to heaven, it shouldn't be that far off the ground. However today we have sky scrapers that are much much taller than any ziggurat built in the time of the story of babel, and in fact we are sending men and machines into space and to neighboring bodies.

Shouldn't god be confusing the language of NASA? Where is this heaven he is hiding from us. Some of the answers to the question i referenced said god is in another dimension... this does not fit with scripture and in their eyes should be untrue.

Those of us who are not Christians are fed up when we submit a question that queries the validity of religious scriptures, and you answer with a pitiful "I'll pray for you"

Christians...Please don't pray for me, I can do so by myself very effectively!

Pagans, Wiccans, Diests and the like....prayers welcome!
