Some one asked a very similar question to yours a couple of days ago, questioning where Cain "found" his wife, however the so called "scholars" answered with the following :
1. He married his sister
2. There were other people on earth before God created Adam & Eve (which insinuates that some of us are not descendents of Adam & Eve and are therefore not created by God)
3. The story is just metaphorical.
There are many other variations to the story and no "one" common belief among the biblical scholars. Which just goes to show that the story is not true. How could it be when the first form of written communication took place thousands of years after the Adam and Eve era? That would mean that the "story" was verbally communicated from generation to generation until it could be documented.

If you take Genesis literally you have to assume it was either incest or God created wives for Caine and Seth the same way he created Eve for Adam. Genesis 5:4 says Adam begat sons and daughters which is the basis for the assumption that it was probably incest. The idea that God created Caine and Seth's wives is special pleading.
If you don't take Genesis literally asking where Caine's wife came from is like asking why the people on Gilligan's Island took so much stuff on a three hour tour?

Cain went to the land of Nod, You are looking at a great time span, & not just 1 or 2 days, From Adam & eve, to Noah you are looking at 2000 yrs. & you only go from Gen 4. to Gen 6, only 2 chapters but yet 2000 yrs. Therefore from Adam & Eve, are living people came from them, The seed line is always run from the first male, But the 2nd male & the females is not included in the seed line, but yet they were born unto them.

He created Eve, but I don't know about "Odom".
On a more serious note: The bible is not perfect because it was written (and interpreted) by men and many things were also omitted, particularly when pertaining to women. Women were not valued in those days. However, you can say the same about history, American or otherwise. That is why it's called "his story".

It does not prove anything. The bible is FULL of contradictions and loopholes. That is the WHOLE point of the bible. You have to have faith that what is written is true. If you don't believe what is written, then you have no faith in the bible. It is not about a short, tight story that has no ambiguities. If that is what you want, then look up L. Ron Hubbard.
If you don't want to believe, then DON'T! Just don't crow about it.

Did you lose your Decoder Ring? All real christians can read between the lines. It goes something like
"adam and eve OBVIOUSLY had other kids or people wouldn't have been able to populate the earth and it OBVIOUSLY wasn't a sin to bonk your sister in those days or god wouldn't have set it up like that, even though christians believe in moral absolutes, which state that some things (like bonking your sister) are absolutely wrong and don't change in situations and this...er...ahem OH LOOK AT THIS SHINEY DECODER RING? ISN'T IT SO PRETTY!?

Actually we all came from Noah (according to the Bible, anyway... since everyone else was wiped out in that nasty flood), but you're right, he had to have come from Adam and Eve.
Oh, and Adam and Eve was all about INCEST. How else, right?
