Mav wonders, why is it that many of the most 'Christ-like' people here aren't Christian? That really is a sad thing to consider.

The anonymity of Y!A is not an excuse to lose oujr Jesus for awhile, it is a chance for us to SHOW our Jesus in secret.

What are your thoughts?

you are right Mav, too often this forum is used by the various Christian denominations to promote their own sides agendas, and not the true message of the Lord, which I think still stands today`Love all mankind as I have loved you`.

Yeah, it is deeper! Well done for being so Christlike! You're always a pretty cool answerer, I figure.
I think sometimes maybe Christians get caught up in the little rules, when the most important things Christ taught were empathy/selflessness and forgiveness.
For me, Y!A is a place I can talk about religion and work out my views on things. And learn to be tolerant! But I wouldn't use it just to let out anger - I don't mean to, anyway.
Thanks for the question, Mav.

What is sad is the amount of christians who put all those fish signs on their cars, look all pretty and handsome. Then drive 90 miles per hour, threaten you with the vehicles, literally assault with a deadly weapon if you don't move out of there way. Makes me wan't to take that symbol and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Christian like my ***. I seriously doubt all those christian like people even own a bible. I look around, see a lot of symbols, and no bibles. I often ask my kids, when was the last time you saw a person walking thru the mall with a bible in their hands. When was the last time you saw a christian at starbucks reading the bible. It's nonsense. There is no christianity without the bible. I often see christians, and ask them, simple questions, like how many chapters are there to the bible? Or can you name the books of the new testament. They look at you like what the heck? It'a all glitter.

I agree with you. At the same time, I think what people often think of as "Christ-like" is a docile person who treats everyone with servility, never correcting or disagreeing. Jesus was very brash and offensive to the Pharisees and intellectually elusive to his own disciples. Every generation seems to make Jesus in its own image. Communists saw him as a social reformer. Ghandi saw him as a pacifist. We see him as leader of religious tolerance.

there are those who emulate JESUS in many ways who possess the qualities we all admire and want to emulate. GOD is to big to be in only one place and the only real differences in one Religion and another are the NAMES they refer to GOD as along with the Rituals and Ceremonies they use to Adore, Honor, Worship, Praise, Pray and Petition, Thank, Etc. Etc. if one looks at the basics of all Religions they are taught to honor the free will and rights of others. needless to say there are those who are fanatics but these are the minority not the majority.

I understand what you are saying. Perhaps it is that many Christians think accepting Jesus' free gift means they have nothing more they can be bothered to do, like grow spiritually. Also, like having a 'Godly' testimony.

we could look at it another way though Mav ..
isnt it a beautiful thing that you dont need religion to be Christ - like ... that these beautiful people can be seen in all walks of life...
but i agree that those who are of the Christian faith should be making more of an effort to show these qualities as an example of their beliefs ...
Pangel was happy to see your name on that list though xxx

"chance for us to SHOW our Jesus in secret"?

It's an opportunity to ask questions and give answers. Profession of faith is not done in secret.

Why are we so hung up on labeling people and then insisting that they adhere to standards that we make up that they neither know or care about?

Do you want to be Christ-like? Then live and let live.

You're contradicting yourself. It's impossible to "show" anything in secret. If it's a secret, then it can't be shown.
