Are my questions so threatening that you have to resort to hate? I'm asking you simple legitimate questions in a civil manner but I'm interested in your thoughts. If I seem mean or whatever, that's your perception, not mine.

who think that Jesus was a fictional character; why do you think this way? How can you think he was fake when there is evidence supporting the fact that he did, indeed, live?

Incredibly, the eye, optic nerve and visual cortex are totally separate and distinct subsystems. Yet, together, they capture, deliver and interpret up to 1.5 million pulse messages a milli-second! It would take dozens of Cray supercomputers programmed perfectly and operating together flawlessly to even get close to performing this task.

How can nature give life when even scientists can't create life?

I mean really. Okay, so this is what they're telling you. Some spirit popped out of nowhere and somehow created the universe. Then, this spirit, since spirits are so smart, decides to make a son out of yet again, nothingness. So I guess he uses his super powers and makes everything, including his son. Don't forget, millions of years before this, there were dinosaurs and all, so I guess it took god millions of years to finally think that "Hey, I should make some humans, make their DNA really close to chimps to throw them off, and then, I shall tell them all that I'm the almighty being, and I made everything" So boom, Jesus is there. Somehow, everyone magically believes Jesus, though they have no proof of anything whatsoever. Jesus is sacrificed, and comes back to life? Wouldn't he stay up in Heaven or something with that superbeing God? That's why I'm not Christian. Too silly.

God told Moses: "Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest." (Exodus 34:1) Here is what was on the replacement tablets (from Exodus 34:14-26)
1 Thou shalt worship no other God
2 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods
3 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep
4 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest
5 Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks
6 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the Lord God
7 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven
8 Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left until the morning
9 The first of the firstfruits of thy land shalt thou bring unto the house of the Lord thy God
10 Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk

This list differs, obviously, from the one in Exodus 20 (was God's memory faulty?), but it is only this list that is called the "Ten Commandments."

Looking at the Old Testament and the New Testament, God's character appears quite different. The God of the Old Testament often seems brutal, vengeful, and even savage.

On the other hand, in the New Testament, God is described as a loving, caring, compassionate. Such a conflict is easily explained if the Bible is accepted as simply a collection of stories, myths, legends, and partial histories that are examples of the values and beliefs of particular cultures from which they originated, but much more difficult to reconcile if the Bible is presupposed to be true.

doesn't sacrifice mean giving up one thing for another? who was God giving up His 'son' for since all human beings belong to Him?

if God is all powerful and wants to forgive, can't He simply forgive with a "I forgive you" (if any of this is true at all)?

why all the melodrama?

and why expect Muslims to beleive any of this?

I just can't stand it anymore ......... i started coming to this section to search some answers about my religion and about other religons too, i mere to broaden my perspective - to be more tolerant towards other. And i just can't stand the amount of hatred present in this section. Yes, there are many exceptions, too. I've met some really great people, with beautiful minds. I just don't get it how can somebody be so twsited to bash other people's beliefs and traditions. That's pure racism, coz they do it out of lack of knowledge and out of desire to learn. Pure hatred is what leads them, and i'm just not strong enough to understand that evil exists in its purest form.
Yes, i know it's not a question. I just felt like taking it off my chest - and no i still don't feel better. I'm pissed off

The Christian God has three names; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But some say that that is polytheism. The Allah of Islam has 99 names. Should they be called polytheists, too? Please help me understand the difference. I'm confused by the answers I got to this question -> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtAbkYrgYBkGANc5pjfwN9vzy6IX?qid=20061110175517AAv48Ny

Honestly, you can meet billions of people and get tons of historical knowledge. The devil doesn't sound like such a horrible guy, I believe he is a victim of the mass media just like Muslims and pagans.

Has anyone ever meet the devil or been in hell? How are you so certain that they are so horrible and such if you've never been there?

I am not satanic and don't even believe in such fairy tales but I feel kind of bad for Satan and hell.

Please Christians explain what is so bad about hell?

P.S. don't give me that garbage of burning in an eternal pit of fire. I seriously think that's a way to scare children because psychologically fire, demons and being torture is a deterrent for any locale.

Heaven according to the bible sounds pretty homosexual to me. Everyone is “happy” playing harps with a bunch of child molesting priest and religious fanatics arguing over if Jesus was god or the son of god.
