Looking at the Old Testament and the New Testament, God's character appears quite different. The God of the Old Testament often seems brutal, vengeful, and even savage.

On the other hand, in the New Testament, God is described as a loving, caring, compassionate. Such a conflict is easily explained if the Bible is accepted as simply a collection of stories, myths, legends, and partial histories that are examples of the values and beliefs of particular cultures from which they originated, but much more difficult to reconcile if the Bible is presupposed to be true.

If God created man, and man dies, then God kills all people.

And what is your point because of this change in God one should not believe in God and that there is no value to the Stories of the Testament.

Religion teaches values to the general public and creates a sense of well being that most can not reach on there own. Like everything else in the world there are extremists that corrupt the stories for there own growth.

So we need to get rid of all the religions of the world just because of the extremists. What do we do about the extremest atheists or the extreme Nationalistic countries. How about the KKK not a religious organization.

There will always be people to corrupt something good to there advantage. Should we stop the thing that provides the good for people or just stop the corrupt. Seems like an easy decision.

God does not kill. The bible was written by humans to explain their understanding of their experiences of God. Humans do not know God. We can write all we want as to what we believe to be an experience of God and could be wrong. Our American History books were written to explain the views of a certain group of people. If we were to include the interpretation of the American Indians and Blacks as the events happened, we would have a completely different history of our country. So too with the bible. The writers were greatly influenced by the events of their day and their own personal biases. Even the memory of Jesus as written 30 to 50 years after His death, is to be read with the understanding of who wrote the passages and to whom they were writing. We can not read the Bible literally. We receive inspiration from the Bible to help us live the life God wants us to live. God came and lived among us and continues to do so. The Bible continues to be written in our lives. We are the only Bible some people will ever read.

God didn't kill any "innocent" people.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Luke 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you would read your bible you would see where God warned people over and over and over,,, before he finally pronounced judgment on them,,, but it is good you can see that God does have a side where he will punish for sin,,, as well as being a loving God and Father to us,,, all of that is an example to us not to follow there deeds,,,, but to turn toward his love instead of his wrath,,,good luck,,,

I see these questions so many times. You guys spend more time trying to disprove God, than just accepting him. Those were different times, and we cannot begin to understand God's motives. Why not spend some time praying, and then maybe you will not question God so much.

In the old testament god demanded animal/blood sacrifices throughout. In the new testament he only demanded one sacrifice. A human sacrifice.

Don't you think it odd the arrogance of the ancients that wrote the bible in that they blasphem the very god they created?

It amazes me to read how many confused folks there are out in cyberspace and how many really truly don't know God for who he is.

No one knows all the answers, but I know that trying to constantly be-little and criticize everyone for their beliefs no matter what they are is wrong.

Peace
