My Jesus iss not a lovey-dovey, peace sign waving hippie with product in his hair.

Here's my Jesus:

The Rider on the White Horse
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev. 19:11-16

This is the Jesus that is going to return, soaked in blood with a tat...pretty cool huh?

I'm pentacostal, not catholic, but i just got my kid back after he was abused by his mother's bf, and i feel like i should be doing something, and one of the ladies i work with is a catholic and she asked if i had tried any prayers to the saints. she offered to bring me by a book, but i told her i can look them up online, but i don't know which ones would be good for this situation. Help, please?

Honestly do people really think that evolution happens in some sort of pokémon style and that one species of animal just suddenly evolves into a bigger, stronger species during it's life?

I keep hearing the argument "I've never looked outside and seen a dog evolving into a cat." so I'm guessing that some people really do think that the theory of evolution is this kind of thing.

Note: a capabara is a large rodent that looks like a giant guinea pig.

And yes, I did just post this in the wrong category a moment ago.

P.S. New American Standard Bible or some new one, in language understandable by an American is best :-)

I just saw a question which was asking everyone if they are happy in life. I answered that I really am not, but when I saw some other answers, I really felt that I am much better off, And actually I felt that in this channel, if instead of arguing too much and expressing hate, if we just took some time and expressed our troubles and joys maybe we could be spending time here more wisely? If not here then maybe with someone in real? I am a christian, but I feel that more than arguing about whats right and whats wrong, its better if we really started helping people around us who are sad and maybe even a small talk with them would help them and us. Everyone os us has our troubles, why can't we take some time and listen to other's troubles as well? wouldn't it lessen our burdens as well as theirs? And isn't that how we show that we care for others as well? Sometimes I come online to express my feelings when no one understands? What do you think about this and why are you here?

It seems fairly standard among christians to believe in some alternate after-death concept of eternal torture as punishment for something or other....

... But here is an interesting question, and it does depend ENTIRELY on what you believe constitutes a hell-worthy crime and what doesn't.... and its ENTIRELY THEORETICAL....

But if someone you cared for was essentially going to go to hell when they died.... and the only way you could save them was to take their place and go to hell yourself....

.... Would you do it?

... Really?

[And I don't want any dimwitted responses involving saving them AND yourself, or claiming that the situation isn't valid. I've already said its theoretical and thus in assumption of circumstances that make it valid. Its a simple question: Would you or wouldn't you... and perhaps why?]

How is it that one Godhead could keep information from the other two Godheads, since each Godhead is neither greater nor lesser than the others?

And which translation, edition, etc. Thanks.

The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies! The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt. In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed. Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence. The LORD is good. When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge. And he knows everyone who trusts in him. But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood. He pursues his foes into the darkness of night.

My plans are to enroll into St.Joseph College Seminary in the fall of 2007 and begin studying for the priesthood. I have done serious discerning for about a year and feel this is where God wants me to be. I have also felt compelled to explore the prospect of priesthood since at least 8th grade. I fully intend on completing all four years of education at St.Joseph's while I continue to discern the call to the priesthood. Although I am very excited about college, the cost for four years at St.Joseph scares me (it’s about $130,000!!!!!). This extraordinary high cost is due to the fact that I'd be required to double major, i.e. studying Theology/Philosophy and Social Science Education (specifically European/U.S. History, and Sociology). Since I'm not rich at all, I'm going to need a lot of financial aid and scholarship money. Please give me any information that could help me. Thank You and God Bless You.
