if she's looking to the bible to cope with physical abuse then she may need therapy. thinking that the bible is the end all, be all in this situation is ridiculous. she should leave the bastard and find a man who loves her, and get remarried. if the bible tells her she can't then maybe it's time to get a new book.

Almost all mainline religions in America recognize domestic violence as grounds for divorce and remarriage. The reason is it is unfair to require a woman to stay in such a relationship.
