no, I do not think that anyone believes that cats can or will evolve into dogs. Cats and dogs both evolved from different creatures. Even though there are similarities, neither is going to evolve into the other. They most likely evolved from one creature but evolved differently, creating 2 seperate species. You see, cats and dogs have already evolved in two seperate ways and one will most likely not evolve into the species of the other.

Cats wouldn't evolve into dogs, that's a silly concept.
Humans didn't evolve from apes, humans and apes are actually genetic cousins of each other. While we both have some startling similarities in genetic structure, man didn't come from ape.
Humans and apes more than likely have a common ancestor, but the ape line went off one way, and the human line went another way, more than likely ending in the neanderthal, except for the ones that were mutated into Men by the Atlanteans, for slave labor.

Humans and modern apes evolved from a more primitive ape (common ancestor) About 6 million years ago from our closest relative the chimp.
Most carnivores (dogs, cats) have a common ancestor but it is much further removed. That split occurred about 55 million years ago.

Don't do that. It only showcases your own ignorance. Apes and humans may well have physically come from a COMMON ancestor. Not the same thing. And cats and dogs hail from different branches entirely. There is nothing about your question that makes sense.

Hmmmmm...sounds like you work for the Topeka Board of Education.
Well let me put it like this, since you don't believe in science (which is pathetic) you are a slave to your parents and pastors' bull. Too bad you will live a life never searching for deeper answers. In the end you and your ilk really have no faith, b/c true faith would be to allow yourself to study other religions, beliefs, facts, etc. with an open mind. After all if you were a critical thinking person you would actually be firm in your faith and have the ability to use your brain. Instead you just regurgetate Evangelical talking points. Oh by the way congratulations on your Rev. Haggard - I'm so happy to see that the Evangelicals who espouse hatred of gay people are also gay themselves. LOL

Lay off the stupid pills. this is embarrassing to be of a similar species as you. perhaps evolution is inaccurate and creationists developed from a lots dumber animal than apes. We did not evolve from apes, we are apes.

There are five Great Apes:
Gorillas
Orang-Utans
Bonobos
Chimpanzees
Homo Sapiens
Humans ARE apes. Congratulations for being able to distinguish apes from monkeys though. Usually people as badly informed as you ask about humans and monkeys.

Dear Sheldon:
The fact is, no one believes apes evolved into humans. The gist of the theory of evolution is that apes and humans had a common ancestor. Quite a different scenario! And in fact, apes and humans share 95% of their DNA, so it's really a stretch to imagine that they emerged as totally separate entities.
As for dogs and cats, they, too, may have evolved from a common ancestor, but to the best of my knowledge there have been no DNA comparisons made between canines and felines.

perhaps you should quit worrying about the chances of cats evolving into dogs and focus on the fact that you have obviously evolved into an idiot....

No. Dogs already exist, and thus have already been "evolved into". What a queer question, and unless you have written this question in jest, I am tempted to think you have no idea what you are attempting to discuss.
