Is this just one more of their double standards? They say "Leviticus 18:22 says homosexuality is an abomination, and that is in the Bible so we must live by it". But then you catch them eating some shrimp, or shellfish (Lev. 11:10), or wearing a cotton-poly blend shirt (Lev. 19:19) and they say "Well Jesus excused us from having to obey rabbinical law in the New Testament". Did Jesus only excuse the straight people from having to obey these laws? Was there any exclusions, because I can't find the exclusions in my text?

I'm writing a paper on Hinduism for my religion class and one of the subjects that I have to analyze is what Hindus believe people really want. I'd really like to hear from people who actually practice the religion Hinduism rather than solely read it from a book. Thanks so much!

If you are atheist, do you thank the person wishing blessings upon you? Do you say "bless you" when someone else sneezes?

My friend is atheist, and gets offended when people assume that she believes in a god. She was at my house and sneezed, and I wasn't sure whether I should say "bless you" or not, so I asked her. She said she doesn't get offended, but she doesn't thank the person, and she thinks its a little silly. What do other atheists think?

it seems like people need an invisible god.

when jesus was here, he was not only treated like crap from his own kind and other kinds, but his own father let him go through torture.

the same seems to be true with heroes. heroes are hated at their time, but become heroes much later in time.

so, are we just idealizing jesus like we do our heroes, but deep down inside we really hate jesus.?

and would god really be despised if he was visible, so we make him invisible and to our liking, just so we can not despise him?

Your god said to turn the other cheek, and if I remember correctly you're even supposed to try to bring us to him. That means you have to be nice and try to suck us into your cult. Plus, if you're mean that's a sin.
We atheists, however, can say whatever we want. We don't have a sky fairy telling us what to do.

Atheism is pretty cool.

i've always wondered about the logic behind that. does my disbelief really merit eternal damnation? why can't there just be a "My bad god. i now realize i was wrong. it happens. sorry." and god and i could be cool. we could go partying or something. why can't it be like that? that just seems so shallow to me. please, explain the logic.

Unlike some religions, e.g., Christianity, Judaism, Islam
Hinduism has a huge library of books.

What are the 5 most important ones? Are there fewer than most Hindu's consult?

Is it the greed of the Middle Class? Who want more than they can afford, and then
demand more pay, and more benefits? Which only lets the rich raise their
prices? And the Middle Class brings home more money, but doesn't have more any
more money, because everything costs more?
And the rich get richer, and the poor get clobbered?
Of couse it's not your greedy little heats at fault!

The doctrine of the Nicolaitans was mentioned in the Apocalypse of John Revelation chapter 2. It is a symbolic name of a group of people that represents the hierarchy of a ruling class over the rest of the people, developing a pecking order of fleshly leadership. Jesus hates this and warns the people to repent. It is not the question of the ministries but rather in the separation of them into a hierarchy over the people. This very idea was taken over by the Protestants with their own corruption of leadership roles and coverings. The Church of Ephesus was commended for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans. The wrong separation of the clergy from the laity is a great evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for religious power over others. There is an ungodly spiritual authority in the Church today, which is nothing more than the prideful spirit of control, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a rebellion of the rightful authority of God. What do you think?

Making the LEADERS look like FOOLS. Like it was FUN taking it up the BUTT!
The FUTURE wasn't worth caring about, and EVERYTHING was just a Big

And they LAUGHED themselves to RUIN.
Till the BARBARIANS came and CUT OFF their HEADS!

How can this threat of "burning in hell" still be a threat to anybody that has passed high school biology? When you die, your soul departs your body, your central nervous system ceases to function, thusly severly impairing your ability to "feel" things after death. So if you can connect logical thoughts together, then the threat of burning in a fire in hell has no cause to alarm you. But yet I will see the most seemingly knowledgeable people espouse the "don't do it, or you will burn in hell" saying so quickly. Does any do any research before they buy into a scam, or is everyone just a blind sheep these days? If you so readily believe in burning in hell, would you be interested in hearing about a great company named Amway? If you don't join my Amway pyramid, you will burn in hell!

I see so many people say that god will punish you for saying bad things or messing up (sining) now and then. then they say he is nice generous and forgiving. What differnece would it make if I killed 6,000,000 people but then said I was truly sorry (and I was) I still killed all those people but I would deserve hell as my fate. But I don't have an absolute sense of morality. God supposedly does.

I do not believe in any of the god theories I have heard thus far. But I don't think you can prove there is no god of one form or another. Technically I think I am agnostic, but for all practical purposes I call myself atheist. Which label do you think is more appropriate?

What is the difference between the Christian God, and any other God, in other religions beside satanism. God is the supreme being in all religions, so what if we call God by a different name or name different traits he/ she is still one and the same. For example lets say Group A knows Cynthia Brown and thinks she is nice and can do no wrong and they call her Cynthia. Group B knows Cynthia Brown and thinks she is a hard work, and very hot headed and call her Cyn. Is she still not the same person. Then why Can't god be called by one or more names? God is God.
