Your god said to turn the other cheek, and if I remember correctly you're even supposed to try to bring us to him. That means you have to be nice and try to suck us into your cult. Plus, if you're mean that's a sin.
We atheists, however, can say whatever we want. We don't have a sky fairy telling us what to do.
Atheism is pretty cool.

If God is really real you have some choices to make. Repent from acts that lead to death. Accept Christs forgiveness. I hope and pray that you don't keep not believing in God before you die. Forever is a long time, and if you think that God is all forgiving and all loving well he is but just like every parent punishes his children so does God. God hates sin and unfortunately we are all born with a nature to do evil things, against God. The wage of sin is death for eternity... God gave us all of the tools to find forgiveness because he loves us but we have a choice... what you choose effects the rest of eternity... I know that it is a hard pill to swallow but it is the truth.
The statement turn the other cheek means that we should not use violence to spread the message, it does not say that we shouldn't offend people or not speak the truth... we should speak the truth with love but sometimes tough love works the best.
I admit that this way could be wrong, but what if I'm right? It is the most important decision you will ever make... What do you choose?
Peace and love in Christ
Chris

I can truly and honestly say that I've never felt the need to pick on anyone who doesn't believe what I believe, much less atheists. It would just be a waste of time. I like to spend my time wisely with a point to the things I do. And God never told me I had to be nice while spreading the gospel. Tolerant does not equal nice. Civil yes, nice no. If you're not nice to me, it would be a lie for me to try and act nice to you, because it wouldn't be what I'm feeling. Atheists are just as often hostile towards Christians as we are towards you. But I guess that's just what happens when two people talk who subscribe to philosophies that are the complete opposite of each other.

Just because you don't believe in God doesn't make Him not exist!! No more than if I didn't believe in paying taxes would make them not exist!! Being a Christian doesn't mean we are to lay down like a doormat and be trampled on. We are called to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Not all Christians give Christ a good name. You can't judge us all by a few who "pick on you". You're just looking for excuses to not believe. If you keep your eyes on humans, you will always find ones who mess up being a Christian (because we are humans and make mistakes). I have never tried to suck anyone into accepting Jesus. I tell you that Jesus died for you because He loves you and all you have to do is believe and ask Him to forgive you and try your best to live for Him. The decision is up to you!!! You have your own free will. I wonder when you are standing before God on judgement day if you'll still stay "atheism is pretty cool"? It says in the bible that "Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." You WILLdo it one day. You WILL be begging His mercy one day. Please don't wait until it's too late. Accept Him now. He will forgive you. I'm praying for you. Christians aren't perfect...... Just forgiven.

Depends on how you mean. Are we commanded to be loving? Of course we are. Are we commanded to preach the Gospel to every creature? Absolutely.
But if by "pick on" you mean dismantling the atheistic faith, "We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God." -2 Corinthians 10:5. And we'll keep doing it!
The question is: will you be innocent or guilty before God on the day of judgment?

Other than using the word cult and the fact God is not a sky fairy.
Your post is absolutely right. Christians are called to be loving towards everyone.
And not to even hold hatred in our hearts against people.

These people ... even talking about Hell buys you an .. umm .. another eternity in Purgatory ... yeah! Purrrr guh torrr eeee Yayy!
Okay, are the children gone yet?... good. You've heard that "Hell is for children," right? Well, that's what it means; be good little boys and girls and pray to BudaAbaJeebus, and you'll get a gold-star in heaven.
Really, those of us who stayed good learned where God really lives and how He really feels about us ... and that we can't change that, no matter what cruelty we rain upon the Atheists! lol

Turning the other cheek does not mean to ignore what happened and not act on it.
Back in the days when it was written, people who were beneath someone else were slapped with the back of the hand. When you offer the other cheek they would be hitting you with the palm of the hand and not the back. This motion showed that you were an equal.
Learn the true meanings before you condem them!

Yes He did say to turn the other cheek, He did not however say to be someone's doormat. You can be assertive without being rude or mean. As for sucking you into a cult, no we'd rather teach you about the Lord. As far as sky fairies I don't believe in those I believe in God our Father.

Do atheists realize you aren't allowed to pick on Christians? Seriously though if you don't believe God exists then why are you so offended at other people believing in Him? Is it maybe because in the back of your mind you are worried he does?

you are correct. i was just thinking about the scripture turn the other cheek. not all Christians attend cults. I know - I attended cultic churches for a long time. today i am in a church i really enjoy. did you know not all people who attend christian churches are christians? that, I think, is what makes things difficult. if you ever want to, ask Jesus into your heart, confess your sins, get yourself a bible and pray on a regular basis. after that, you might want to find a church you are comfortable in. take it one step at a time. I have enjoyed speaking to you about this. take care.
