"The Word" is a title that God's son Jesus has carried since his creation. He is God's spokesman at all times. Anytime God spoke to men he did so through his son as the spokesman, except on 3 occasions, (Matt 13:17, 17:5,6 & John 12:28). In each of these 3 occasions it was God's own voice heard because Jesus was here on earth as a human and could not be the spokesman.

The Bible is God's Word but "The Word" is a title or a name, (a noun).

Sorry,de bossy one, wrong book. John 1:1 In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. 2 This one was in [the] beginning with God. The capital W Word is referring to Jesus. He was God's first creation, and was a god-like spirit individual. The Bible is the small w word of God, where His laws are written. Think of it this way. Sometimes, in western movies, a sheriff will say, " I'm the law in this town". Now, he is not claiming to be a living law book, but he IS the man who makes sure the law is obeyed. Jesus is the individual whom God is using as a helper to see that the divine prophecies are carried out.

The concept of the Word of God goes back to Genesis -- God created the Earth with just his Word. It is the symbol of his creative power which is part of his essence. God and God's creative power are One and cannot be separated.

The Word of God also refers to the Promised Messiah -- "Word" can mean "Promise."

So in the sense that Jesus is the fulfilment of that promise, and one with God in his person and in his power, Jesus is the Word of God.

The Bible is the Word of God in a more practical sense -- it is the written word that helps us understand who God is and about our relationship with him.

The Koran also refers to Jesus as the Word of God, and as the Spirit of God, which hints at the Trinity which they reject.

Both ! But Jesus came to earth so we would not have to do animal sacrifices any more. Jesus is the Lamb of God and was sacrificed on the cross for us . Now we only need to believe & love him with all our hearts. It does not make any differance to the Lord what you are doing or have done. The Lord loves you, and will forgive you. Just repent and ask to be forgiven and the Lord will lood at you as if your soul was wight as snow.
