My fiance is Muslim and I am not, we are going to get married, and he says that he will need to pay me a dowry, of course I was surprised. I did know about this, but honestly didn't think he was serious, this is his first marriage and my second. He says I need to tell him an amount that he needs to give to me. I have no idea of what to say to that. Exactly what is it used for, and how much? I told him not to worry about it, but he insists on it.

"Nimrod (which means rebellious) built the Tower of Babel in an attempt to get to heaven. "

i know parents dont name their children rebelious..

Babel means "confusion". (you name your city confusion. what a great idea.)

I've always found this very peculiar. I've never had a problem considering the possibility that I could be wrong for not really believing in God, heaven/hell, angels etc. As an agnostic, I've suspended judgement but am willing to consider all arguments. But the religous people I know are never able to even consider the possibility that they may be wrong about their beliefs. Why is that?

In my last questinon about Satan being hot on your trail, the answers were that most of you did not believe in (my) God, or any God, Jesus was not the son of God, the Bible is just made up stuff,& just a fairy tale, there is no Satan, Evil, or God, or Heaven or Hell, because no one can prove it. Then where did you come from did your mother give you life, like a life giver, like a Creator, or did you just pop out of the ground, who put the ground there. Can you prove beyong a reasonable doubt that you came from nothing, & I mean from the beginning of time, when there was nothing but darkness. How did you pop out of the darkness with a life giver, and give yourself life. It is your turn, let's hear some intellilgent answers,& not immature, dumb & dumber answers like before. This is an adult forum, not for 8 yr olds. Let's hear from you, it is your turn?

Hotels, taxis, tour guides, souveniers, restaurants, "donations" etc.

Seems like big business! Looks like Mecca hasn't changed much since they stopped selling idols. How much money do you think they collect from "pilgrims" who are REQUIRED to come there?

Jesus says to go to all the world and preach the gospel.

Im born Jewish and was taught Jesus is a liar and a deciever-have nothing to do with Him.

yet growing up I found no personal God-our God left us 2700 years ago with our last prophet who spoke thus saith the Lord.

Isaiah 700 bce said "He will be exaulted. First he will be marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected. All we like sheep have gone astray, and the Lord will make to light on him the iniquity of us all. He will lay down his life as a lamb, and make atonement for our sins. He will see his seed and prosper."

now I knew Jesus had to be our Messiah.

I read his words from Heaven-"Behold I love you, and knock on your heart to come in and deliver from sin as your friend, when you let me in" Revelation 1:1&3:19&20

I prayed, "Jesus come into my heart forgive my sins, and help me, Im sorry for my sins, be my friend, amen."

What will you do/or have you done about Jesus-would you share hisTruth

I am 24 years Old and I have never commited premarital sex but am feeling the urge for sex more and more each day. I am not ready for a marriage yet and I won't be ready for the next three years. Can I marry a woman for a short period of time say for six months or even two years with her consent so that we can have sex. Because if we are married we will not be committing any sins.

I meditate three times daily for 15 minutes each session. I concentrate on an object ( a leaf lately) until I reach a state of where I feel that time no longer exists.

I am interested to know how you meditate, and how you feel when doing so. Thanks!!!!!!!!

I heard from muslim friends that Muslim men are allowed four wives maximum but i read in some books that the prophet Mohamed had more than four. Is it his privilege being a prophet ?

I have watched several interviews with him, and have to admit that he makes a lot of sense. I'm wondering what his fellow Christians think.
If you don't know who he is, I suggest you find out, because he had a lot to do with how you have voted for the last 8 years.

Has anyone heard of a Muslim religous ceremony that doesn't involve legal papers? Is it possible? And is it possible between a Muslim man and Christian woman?

You have to be one messed up kid to want to be married at 18. Your either too scared to live the world alone (if only for a while) or your such a dork you think the other person will leave you if you dont get married, your still a kid, You can live the exact same life without the complications. Im not saying break up with everyone, just dont be a pathetic ret@rd and get married when your a kid and supposed to be learning about yourself.

I know Muslims consider Jesus to be an important prophet. But I also heard Muslims do not accept the story of the crucifixion. Is this true?
I have also heard Jesus was believed to have been replaced on the cross by another person. Is this true? And if so, who is this other person?
Also, I heard a story according to which Jesus was called back by God unto Heaven before he could be seized by the romans. Is this story true?
Are any of these stories widely accepted by Muslims? If not, what is the more widely accepted version of events?
Sources would be appreciated.

Why should I be expected to show respect to your beliefs when your belieffs include direct attacks against me?

"A fool says in his heart, 'there is no god'" - the Christian holy book calls me a fool.

"Cast ye not your pearls before swine." - it calls me a pig too (no big deal now, but it used to be the worst possible insult at the time that BS was written).

Why then is it not fair for me to say I thinkthat book is complete nonsense written by madmen on drugs? Why must I show deference to a hateful bigoted piece of garbage like the Bible that explicitly singles ME out (me personally, not just my beliefs) for discrimination? Am I not within my rights to take the gloves off considering statements such as that within the Bible?

I have read the whole thing multiple times. These references are not out of context.

Personally, I am celebrating by cooking a lot, Insha Allah. lol. Seriously, though, Eid is such a special time. It is a time not only to reflect on how we spent our time during Ramadan, and hoping to recieve so many blessings from it. That is part of it, but my fellow Muslims, I would also like you to reflect this Eid on how fortunate most of us are, and to think of those who will not have food for Eid, and other things we take for granted. Any hunger we've felt is really nothing in comparison. May Allah bless this Eid for you all, and I am sending my love to you all. Assalamoalakum, Sister Safiyyah

if worse drop the bombs right now
if better we better be starting some place
note that when the pope visited his land of his birth they repainted every thing ,had big cleanups as if jesus himself was comming
were i to say he is comming back on his next birthday would you get ready ,clean up some rubbish ,paint your own and the widows house
would you then perhaps feed a poor person ,then when you knew for sure he was comming would you think duifferent hoping to be invited to his commoing home party
when he has come back then will it be too late to change your act
he is all forgiving but those who believe in his name cant even forgive each other ,what is a devided church but self serving, see a bigger picture jesus lives even now
he is the servant of the living ,live in his name
his father also is the god of the living ,eternally living earned by good living or demeaned by selfserving self abuse ,
know we are forgiven but we must believe we are forgiven by feeling we deserve it

I've heard from Jewish people that Christians mistranlate the Torah. is it mistranslation if the translation has foot notes stating that there are differant meanings for words from text written in differant languages like hebrew, aramaic, greek, masoretic, and samaritan? Also are there hebrew words that have more then one meaning? And if so how and who decides what translation these words will be used as in the Torah?
