I believe that it mentions in the Bible that the antichrist will be associated with 666. However, it doesn't explain what it means. It is just one of those mysteries that people talk a lot about. I am a Christian. It is supposed to be an unpure number. Read the Bible.

The Antichrist arrives at the sound of the sixth trump,the breaking of the sixth seal and the emptying of the sixth vile.
Christ arrives at the seventh trump,seal and vile.
Seven is Gods number for completion (rest)
If you remember for Math class 666 converts to 6 2/3 and incomplete number.(that's my interpretation not the bible.

My understanding is that this was the result of a Miss-translation. The original text was supposedly referring to Nero Caesar who persecuted the early Christians.

The number is mentioned in the book of Revelations. John refers to it as the number of the Beast. There has been much speculation about the meaning of it.
