In my last questinon about Satan being hot on your trail, the answers were that most of you did not believe in (my) God, or any God, Jesus was not the son of God, the Bible is just made up stuff,& just a fairy tale, there is no Satan, Evil, or God, or Heaven or Hell, because no one can prove it. Then where did you come from did your mother give you life, like a life giver, like a Creator, or did you just pop out of the ground, who put the ground there. Can you prove beyong a reasonable doubt that you came from nothing, & I mean from the beginning of time, when there was nothing but darkness. How did you pop out of the darkness with a life giver, and give yourself life. It is your turn, let's hear some intellilgent answers,& not immature, dumb & dumber answers like before. This is an adult forum, not for 8 yr olds. Let's hear from you, it is your turn?

You can discuss me all day, but that is not proving anything. This is not to tell me what I am, the question is where did you come from? Not if I am insane, etc., that is off the track. Get back on the right track and answer the questions, please. I know where I came from, but I want to know what you think, prove that you came from nothing.

I believe in the "Big Bang", but God did it. No one has even come close so far, insulting me is just one way to not really know, right? I am not forcing my religion on your, just where did you come from?

Hey, I ask the questions, your turn can be with asking questions. No one knows anything really, right? Just that there are lots we do not know. . well, that is nice.

Slave to JC - The Devil really comes out in folks when we discuss God, can you feel it? They don't even know it, and they want proof that God came from nothing, maybe they think they are God, he, he. They made themselves.....

great Question - I was trained as a chemical engineer, I became a chemist, So I know all about evolution and big bang. With my science background I had no way to escape it. Then in my mid 20's I became a Christian. By 30 I realized every word of the bible is true. Who am i to pick and choose what is and isn't God's Word. He proved it to me so many times before. I can't doubt it now. I then became a believer in the young Earth theory, (6000 years). I see that science lines up with this also. It does leave questions like how can light be 6 billion years old, but answers dinosaur tracks with human tracks, and radioactive dating techniques
There is more evidence for God, than evolution, in my humble opinion. there are many books titled along the lines of "Scientists who believe" that tell their personal testimonies, on why they believe what they do.
Scientists knowledge is far greater than most of these college thinkers, and people who read a book or two here and there when it comes to science. within the next decade, you will see evolution fall, and the big bang has already almost fallen completely away. Many scientist today do not believe these theories anymore, but they must put on the 'show' at their thesis to get their phd's from the old guard. Then they must continue 'the show' to get funding by governments and univerities.

You asked a great question, and showed poise through it all, My hat is off to you

Sir or Ma am,

Speaking as an atheist no, I cannot beyond a shadow of a doubt prove that that there is no god(s) but then again I cannot prove that reindeer cannot fly either. Without dropping the whole lot of them off a cliff you could never be absolutely sure. However I think that after the 20th reindeer splat on the ground below I'd be fairly convinced that they indeed cannot fly do to lack of evidence to the contrary. (I stole the reindeer thing in part from James Randi*)

Let's look at it this way. Science has brought us so much knowledge on how the natural world works but there is still so much that we do not know. Just because we do not know the exact answers does not mean we should stop looking and just say "well it must be god's doing". Why stop looking for answers and just say "well it's gods will"?

In short I admit I cannot prove that god does not exist but then again I don't have to. The burden of proof belongs to the claimant.

Good day,
Mal

Maybe you want a GOD of the people, someone who cares what you do and how you live but why put human emotions and motives on a GOD? One common arguement for "GOD" is the arguement from contingency. It goes like this youre existence is contingent on your mum and dad, and theyre contingent on their mum and dad etc etc.Keep going with this logic until you reach a the point of a non contingent "being" . Now that being could have initiated the big bang etc etc but it is not necessary for this "being" to love you or to even still exist. Thats a cold comfort for God fearers of the world but is certainly a real possibility that must be entertained. We`are so impressed by our important position in this world that we simply must believe there is a purpose, but again we may just be a cog in the cycle of nature, a mere blotch on the universal timescale that will fade away as many have before us. Sleep well....

Slave to JC, wow youre easily swayed? and by your mid twenties I guess you had seen it all what with the in depth coverage of the big bang and evolution you would have encountered in Chemical Engineering and Chemsitry? Like alot of scientists you simply do not understand science. It is not a religion, it does not propose eternal laws that cannot be challenged. Scientific theories are modifed/re-worked/challenged as part of the scientific method. Religion does not share this methodology. If some parchment ,poorly translated, incomplete, says that you can add all the ages of family members up and get back to Adam and Eve witha figure of 6000 yrs then it must be true and cannot be wrong. The Bible is an incomplete set of writings with many books simply lleft out? It does say some fabulous things about life and how to live a life which truly are eternal and that is its true gift.

Well smarty pants, where did Satan or God come from?

As philosophical as you try and sound, give it up. There is no right or wrong answer, strictly beliefs we all chose to believe in. Some may believe God is their creator, some may believe aliens brought us here, or we are aliens.

** I've thought about it, and through minerals and nutrients, life was created on earth. God is comforting to believe more than anything, something to believe in when you die. It's a great fairy tale to believe in and gives life more meaning then just procreation. **

Or are we simpling living a Matrix? We are living in a non-reality that we are imaging.

Enjoy the gift you have been giving. Out the millions of sperm, congratulations, you made it!

**PROVE WHERE YOU CAME FROM ******. We can't prove where we came from you twit, it's all hearsay. And highlighted my opinion twit.

Well, if you really knew anything about what you were asking, you would know that it's not possible to sit here and answer all of your questions, but I'll do my best to explain what I mean.

First of all, we admit that we don't know exactly "where" we came from, in terms of the beginning of the universe. There are famous theories like the big bang theory. I have to admit that I don't know a lot about these theories, but here's what I do know: energy and matter can't be created or destroyed, but they can be converted from one to the other, which means that everything in the entire universe could have come from energy. In any case, as I said, I don't know a lot about it. I would recommend checking out authors like Brian Greene and Bill Bryson, who write about science and may be able to answer how scientists think of the creation of the universe.

From there, well, again, it's a complicated process. It is believed that life first began in ... oh my, it's late, I can't remember exactly what they're called, but I was to say it's some kind of "furnace." Basically, deep in the ocean are these areas that are not exposed to oxygen, and by a chemical process I learned too long ago to remember, reactive inorganic carbon compounds were able to form organic carbon compounds, which eventually spawned "life." This is why the earliest organisms were anaerobic. Anyways, if you really do want details I can look them up at a later date or email one of my old college profs who knew a lot about this (seriously, let me know). From there, of course, life evolved from these tiny, prokaryotic anaerobic organisms all the way to humans, you know, over billions and billions of years.

In terms of me specifically, where I came from ... well, humans are made up of cells (advanced, evolved forms of the cellular organisms that formed so very long ago). Each cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes, except for reproductive cells, ie. eggs and sperm. They each have 23 single chromosomes. So, my father's sperm managed to find my mother's egg and when the two fused, a new genetic code was mapped out. Because of information held in that genetic code, my newly formed cell was able to move through the cell cycle, and divide, and that kept happening over and over until my mother gave birth and I became a separate living human being.

Now, I have a question for you, and please, let's have an intelligent answer (you're not eight years old!): where exactly did this "life giver" come from if there was nothing? And don't try to say that God has always existed because then that negates the whole beginning of my answer. If God could have "always existed" then why couldn't the universe itself and all the materials in it always have existed??

As an agnostic, I admit that I don't know where the universe and life came from. Unlike most, I have the humility to admit that. I don't know who put the ground there or if the ground was always there. I don't think we have any way of knowing and I don't think it matters all that much. Regardless of the origin, the universe exists and we exist in it. Personally, I think we as humans should be focusing on matters fact before focusing on matters of faith. Solve the problems that exists now and will arise in the future before worrying about what might be or might have been. And realize that some knowledge is just out of reach.

If you want to know how the world was made open up a good physics text book and read about it. It's far more believable than saying God made everything and everyone. Here's a question for you: If God made everything who made God? And you can't say "God is just there" because that isn't justified at all. If people don't want to believe in God you shouldn't force then which is what you are doing. Goodness, I hate being bombarded with religious babble.

Don't you just love it when they say"didn't you learn science in school;the Big Bang Theory and the Evolution Theory." Yes,I learned that in school when I was about 10 years old.A lot has changed in the world of science since then.Everyone is always saying to educate yourself,do some research, etc. Well,I've done a lot of research lately, and I suggest that those who are still believing what they were taught in school do a little more research of their own.You just may be surprised, maybe even horrified by what you find out.Science may no longer be a crutch for some.

I don't know whether the universe is eternal, or came from somewhere, or came from nothing. I don't need to have all the answers to be capable of recognizing made up non-answers, such as "god did it".

My inability to explain why there is something instead of nothing in no way lends credibility to your claims.

All that said, I can actually prove the universe was not created, if you are interested. The proof is almost trivial.

i am leaning toward the big bang theory and evolution. only because we didnt pop out of the ground and i also dont believe in god. if jesus is the son of god, then who the heck IS god??? and why is the focus on jesus and not his mom and dad??? where did jesus' mom and dad come from??? so i am more likely to believe in evolution than any religion telling me jesus made me. what about jesus' grandparents? where is jesus' family tree??? show me a bible that has jesus' family tree and i'll believe that we have a creator. hey, if we have a creator, then who made the creator??? see, its a never ending cycle of questions. and what if we DID pop out of the ground, can you prove we didnt???
