I'm ready to dress up and go in public but I wanted to check with the YA religion community first to find out if it was acceptable in the eyes of God.

What has been your experience if you were taught by nuns in parochial schools? (My own experience was very negative, however, I would be interested to know if anyone else had the opposite experience)

When one religion asks another a question about their's it usually ends up with name calling, slander, hate, how wrong you are attitudes. Is this not part of the reason why we don't choose a religion? They have they audacity to question why we can't see 'god' while they are browbeating a Muslim, Christian, Jew or what have you. This kind of makes me sad that people would treat each other this way in the name of religion and it also reiterates the fact as to why I'm an Atheist. Sure, I might do my share of 'questioning the authority(god)' here but then I'm not going against my religious beliefs to do it. Any comments???

Why are Catholics in such denial over what has been an appalling record of sexual abuse of children by priests? Why does this never get discussed in an open forum in Catholic parishes? Why does the issue repeatedly get swept under the carpet?

how do you deal with the lack of "miracles" in your life: no one to fall in love with, not getting the job you want but you're trying as much as you can, your "friend" is only with her boyfriend, your family life's not nice, etc...

I feel like I'm halfway there now. So, is this God's plan for me?

I think religion is a 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' kind of thing - No-one actually *believes* that any gods exist, they all just say they do because of tradition and social conformity, when in reality we all know it's just fictional nonsense. So, I propose that we set a date where all religious people can 'come out' and candidly agree with each other that it's a load of tosh, and move on to a more rational worldview. This would be a great advance for human civilisation. We could all get on with making the best of what is the only life we will ever have, and therefore the only life that matters. All the evidence shows that the less religious that people are, the more peaceful and enlightened and free and egalitarian the society is. Recognising that we're on our own, and that we're all basically the same, and that the future is entirely in our hands, I think we would all be that much more considerate to each other.

How about it?

Let's just imagine you're wrong in your beliefs.
Let's say Islam was right and you find this out on the Day of Judgement, what will you do? How will you try to compensate for your lack of beliefs?
Let's say Christianity was right and you find this out on the Day of Judgement, what will you do?
Let's say Atheism was right and you find this out somehow, what will you do?

Look, i'm not being a smart aleck or ignorant.

Just what if you're wrong?

I'm not sure that I can get into the whole robe and sandals thing for Jesus. I mean, I have a lot of clothes and high heel shoes in my closet that I'm not ready to give up.

Is it sinful not to dress as WWJD?

Is it so i can get an extra big bible bashing from his flock or is it to put boys of dating me, or is it a punishment for something he knows i'm going to do. Or is it because i'm not that different from a chimpanzy?
i can wiggle them to, science says thats a throw back gene some people have, to be able to move your ears like a cat to pick up directional sound. So why is god so quirky to give me such big ears like a monkey that i can twitch like a cat?
Aswers please!

I mean all the idiot questions you repeatedly post here about moon god, paedophile, terrorism, women oppression, blah blah blah have been thrown back in your face with its intestines ripped out. So what is it that makes you come back again and again for more beating, severe each time with more and more Muslims pitching in on the fun!

EVANGELISTIC ATHIESTS and RELIGIONISTS talking about
anothers beliefs?

2006-10-14 01:47:44 · 8 answers · asked by zenbuddhamaster 4

In Turkey and France religious and dress is banned from educational establishments, and govenerment offices.
In Turkey a banker even lost his job because his wife wore a headscarf! This mostly effects muslims but also Jews, Sikhs, Hindus and Christians are also discriminated againt.

In America organisations such as American Atheist are making increasinly frivously law suites persecuting religious organisations. They have sues to stop funding for a Christian charity mentoring troubled teenagers.. And Christians are stopped praying schools..

Aren't these secularists misunderstanding the point of secularims is to allow ALL beleifs to be equally respected..and everybody to follow the religion / or none religion of their choose..

And not to stop people from following their religious practices..

Shouldn't ALL secularists wish to follow India's example where ALL religions are allowed and respected.

I just think he's so cute. And he's so passionate when he's up there on the pulpit just preaching away. I'm pretty sure he's single.

So, how do I go about asking a man of the cloth out on a date? Should I just whisper it when he's giving communion or maybe slip him a note in the collection plate?

Millions of people used to believe that the earth was flat. Does that mean it is flat?

I've been baffled to hear the argument over and over that Islam must be right because there are so many believers or that there are so many converts. Isn't this logically known as begging the question?

when Christ died on the cross the veil of the temple that seperated man from God was torn in two. this was God telling us that we no longer need a mediator between us and him. for you to go to another person and ask forgiveness of your sins against God is wrong. all christians are equal no one is higher than another here on earth.
