lol - not a 'pop quiz'. I'm just curious as to why such a simple axiom has been made so complex for most of us.

Hint: 'sin' and 'dead' are referring to the same thing just as 'born' and 'rising' are referring to the same thing just as are the words 'in' and 'from'. (Also, try to leave your parents out of the equation and see what you have left.)

The spirit is born into the body which was formed by sin. The spirit rises again once the body dies. Jesus showed us that the spirit will rise above the death of the body, for it is the body that is sin.

People were created with an immortal spirit with unlimited possibilities and potential but bound to a body of flesh that is mortal. The flesh is an organism that just wants to eat, sleep, procreate, be coddled, survive, etc... The problem is that it knows no rules. It was meant to be in subjection to the spirit. There is nothing wrong with many of the lusts inherent within our flesh but God provided ways to satisfy these lusts. It is when our spirits let the flesh do what it wants that we sin. Eve saw the fruit, that it was pleasing to the eye and good for food and would give knowledge of good and evil (like God) and she disobeyed the known commandment of God and obeyed her flesh. With God's help, they had overcame the temptation until that point. After that, they sinned more and more simply because they were not meant to be without God. When a new baby is born, they are born apart from God and unable to be the overcomers that God intended us to be. THAT is why He sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to experience all the things we experience and overcome all the temptations He faced. Then He suffered and was put to death (the punishment that God put to the human race once they sinned) undeservedly to take the punishment for US and die in OUR place. On the third day after He died, He arose from the dead and once again walked on this earth. After He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God to reign with Him until He returns again.
Now we can believe (I mean really BELIEVE) that Jesus died for OUR sins and then the Bible says that we were put to death with Jesus and our flesh is dead so it has no power over us (You may say that it is not dead . . but God says it is . . so keep eating but you don't need to sin because the flesh is dead). Later we will get a new body that will never pass away and reign forever with Jesus in the Kingdom He establishes.

Sin is what causes death. Drunk drivers cause death so driving drunk is a sin. Sin can cause disease which causes death. We will all eventually die therefore we are born into sin. According to the Scriptures, Jesus overcame death and sin and His 'rising' gives us hope and power to overcome sin.

Ok, amendment - We tend to do what our parents did either because they taught us, directly or indirectly or because we have all the same tendencies. Your dad is rich, your mom is smart and beautiful, you got good chances. Trick is, everybody sins, everybody will die of something. The children also inherit the bad traits, alcoholism, anger issues, etc. We are 'born into sin'!

Jesus' rising from the dead was a display of His power over death (and the sin which causes it) which gives me hope that by following Him I can be free from that bondage.

I didn't realize this was a Pop Quiz or I would have studied. Sorry. Do you want me to explain more?

Amend - Ok, so you want me to boil it down more.
Two realms, one spiritual, one physical both intertwined (fabric). We enter this earthly physical realm through birth. We leave it in death. Two doorways, portals if you will, one in, one out of this earthly plain as the fabic is woven, each of our lives a thread. Jesus rose from the dead showing that he has the power to move from one realm to the other. He was born, lived, died and then was reborn from death.

Hence: We are born to die; We are born at birth; We are born in death when we leave this earth.

Adam and eve were created perfect, if they had not disobeyed god they would have lived on forever, death was stated as the punishment for what they did.

When satan tempted the first human pair into disobeying god and choosing to live independant from their creator - deciding right and wrong for themselves - they became imperfect and sinful, and started to die.

An issue had been raised because of this, namely 'was it better for humans to rule themselves independant of god?'. The only way to settle the issue was to allow a period of time in which humans could try to do just that, and so instead of destroying adam and eve, god allowed them to live for a time and to have children.

However, because adam and eve were sinful, their children were born sinful too and under the same sentance as them, this is what being born into sin is, romans 5:12 says 'that is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned'

That is why god arranged for the ransom sacrifice that jesus made, in keeping with gods standards of justice, the only thing that could be given to buy back what adam had lost - perfect human life - was another perfect human life. As all humans were now imperfect, nobody had the necessary price, so Jesus was born as a perfect man and gave his life to buy back everlasting life for everybody who would exercise faith in what he did.

Jesus rose from the dead because he was resurrected and returned to heaven, where he presented the value of his sacrifice to god.

That is it in a nutshell, but I have included some links below which I think will answer this more fully and include many more scriptures to back up what I have said.

Romans 5

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

when adam and eve sinned, they became sinners. as we are all descended from them, we are all sinners. sin is an inherited disease.

Psalm 51

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Jesus rose again means He came back to life after death. it showed he He had power over death, and therefore can save those who trust in Him from death and Hell.

Revelation 1

[Jesus says]

18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

we must be saved if we want to go 2 Heaven when we die.

When you were born, you were perfection personified. But unfortunately, you had parents lol. They are imperfect, having been on this planet for 20 some-odd years already. That is what is meant by being born into sin.

I'm not sure what you mean by "what was meant by Jesus rising from the dead". I thought it was fairly obvious, what part didn't you understand?

You are Born on this Earth with a Messed Up Spirit. Adam messed his up and Passed it to everybody else. You got to get your Spirit Recreated (Born-Again, Spiritually Recreated by GOD) to go to Heaven. You cannot handle the Power of the Presence of GOD with a messed up Spiritman.

Adam let the Devil (satan) into the Creation. Sin came in with Devil.
Anybody can choose to Sin.
With a messed up Spiritman, it is Easier to Choose to Sin.
Sin dosen't send you to Hell.
Leaving the Earth for GOOD (what we call Dying, Death) with out getting Saved (Believing Who Jesus said HE was and getting Spirit Recreated) will send you to hell.
Religion cannot RECREATE you.
A Spirit, living in a Body.

It is the concept that all are born with the taint of the original sin of Adam & Eve (Eating the Apple) Jesus rose from the dead to save our sins. Well according to the nuns who taught me.

Everybody must 'sin' to know what 'sin' is so that they can understand and teach others.
To learn from the inexperienced is to learn nothing of life.
Jesus,(allegedly), died on the cross and was 'resurrected' to show the sinner that all could be forgiven if they forgave themselves and others.
To sin is to live and to have lived, showing others the path.

A dog has little dogs, a cat has little cats, a horse little horses and a sinner can only have little sinners as offspring. Jesus rising was His coming back to life when He had defeated death by death and God raised Him up.
