What has been your experience if you were taught by nuns in parochial schools? (My own experience was very negative, however, I would be interested to know if anyone else had the opposite experience)

again it depends upon the individual person rather than judging all by one standard. just like in the public schools there are bad and good teachers.

I was taught in a Catholic school and feel it was a far better educqation than available in the public schools at the time. While the class sizes were large (50 -60) discipline was good (no, not brutal) and we learned well. NO drugs, etc. It also helped establish my faith in God and my love of Jesus.

The question is really moot , there are hardly any nuns left. However they taught me very well.

Nuns have no formal training in education. They are not educated to be teachers. Last I checked, one has to earn a degree in elementary education and then pass state licensure exam in order to teach children in schools. They simply are not qualified.

Would you want your pastor working on your wiring? Would you want your plumber performing surgery on you?
