I am currently studying this chapter in Matthew 19. I know there are other's chapter's concerning this issue. Any help from minister's are appreciated.
The issue our group is discussing is a matter concerning a woman who has a husband that will not stay with her. He continues to leave saying he cannot find himself and to her this seems like a punishment. They have been married several years. They have grown children. The husband keeps leaving and staying gone for 3 and 4 months at a time; then coming back home whenever he feels like it. The woman feels emotionally drained in this marriage. Her husband once almost filed for divorce years ago. She will not get a divorce because she loves him and would never leave him and consider staying gone the way he does her. This lady goes to church but he doesn't. Yesterday she said that if he talks of divorce although she don't agree; she will let him go through with it because she is so tired of the whole issue. What should the woman do?

If so how does that make you feel? Would you flee, fight, go underground, or retreat away from the general population?

I watched a show on the History Channel a couple of weeks ago and it dealt with a Muslim woman on trail,... because her husband stated that she commited adultery.......
Now this woman had to face a council of Men and in doing so....she stated her innocence in this while the husband stated her guilt..
The Men of the council made her go through a test.....if you will....now this test was a dagger that was palced in a fire pit until red hot.....The head man on this council then told her to hold out her tounge and then placed the dagger on her tounge....oh lets say maybe about 3-5 seconds.....
Now after the dagger is taken off.....If the tounge is blistered then she is innocent.......If however her tounge is blistered then the husband is to behead her then and there.......

Now I know that things like this is done in alot of Religions....Like the Purtains...who Lord forgive me....Took those who where on trial and tied there hands and feet up and threw them in a pond...

"I hold that in this country there must be complete severance of Church and State; that public moneys shall not be used for the purpose of advancing any particular creed; and therefore that the public schools shall be nonsectarian and no public moneys appropriated for sectarian schools."

Absolutely true Teddy.
However some government agencies seem to have forgotten that. Should it finally be made illegal for religious groups to mis-apropirate government funds for thier own needs and wants?

Don't get me wrong I have loads of friends who are muslim and whenever I talk to them about what the christians beleive, they agree with me up until a point. all the Muslims I've encountered and that I have noticed, are nicer to christians then Jews. How come? And yet when they encounter Jews, they don't like them. And when both Jews, Musilms & Buddists appraoch Christians they're not mean. Even Jews and Christians get along, so they real question is why do the Muslims dislike the Jewish religon?

This is a serious question, not meant to insult. Non-religious people don't really need to reply. I just want to know what effect this would have on a person's faith if any.

I notice that a lot of people who call themselves christians seem to support bush's wars.

Yet Jesus said "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"

Can anyone explain to me how this can be?

Love and blessings Don

Ok I Unfortunately got the habit of thinking too much . I kind of realized there isn't a real goal to life. I mean , Without humans the universe would still be the same , except earth that wouldn't be civilized. The only goal I see, is to exist but it has no real purpose. Or even the universe what if there was nothing what would I do, Nothing . I still have lots of years to livea and I am going to keep thinking how it has no purpose whatever I do. How can I get out of that train of thought???

Do not worry I will not suicide my self.

Talk presented to the Atheist Society, Melbourne, 10 October 2006

Religion began when the first scoundrel met the first fool. ~ Voltaire

Many people may think that whether religions should be tolerated or not is a religious question. Historically most religions have adopted the view that their own religion should be compulsory and that other religions should not be tolerated. In more enlightened times we have moved to the view that all religions should be tolerated, equally. But there are limits, because few societies condone ritual molestation, for example, in the name of religion.
