DonSose: Dropping the comma makes a run-on sentence, and repeating 'defeciencies' would be redundant.

My own. REB I don't know how to answer this. I get the feeling that anything I say is going to sound self-righteous and fake. I don't want that to happen.

I'm not here to find God or religion or anything along those lines. Maybe I'm here to find peace. I say I come here to learn about human nature, but in truth I'm trying to learn something about myself.

I don't think I'm trying to correct anyone elses deficiencies, but since you bring it up I'd have to say we all do it to a point. Probably without realizing it.

Lately I've started deleting a lot of my posts. It's usually because I don't like the tone. I realize I sound like a snob so I get rid of them. I don't correct my posts because I don't know how. I hope I don't come off as trying to fix other people.

Good questions. I'll be honest. Yep, I sure can get all worked up about people that I think are asking the most moronic things. I have to try and remember that the world is full of all kinds of different people and they aren't all as stupid as they appear on here. And I'm not trying to be mean but when someone says "I had unprotected sex. Am I pregnant?"
Well, I just think they seriously have to be kidding, but a lot of those questions, I believe, are asked in all honesty.
So, I am learning to slow down, take a deep breath and try not to call people morons.
And do I have deficiencies? Hell yeah! And I'll admit to every darn one of them. ( and I must be doing pretty good because I'm trying not to tell you the you spelled deficiencies wrong in your question, but hey that is OK!)

To be honest, I can't speak for anyone but myself, no matter what others have answered. I try to answer questions as truthfully as I can and I rarely look at what other people have written first.
I really am more concerned about correcting my own deficiencies, because I am responsible for ME and no one else. Besides that, figuratively speaking, when I point my finger at someone else, I have three pointing back at me.
My desire is to be of encouragement to others and perhaps be able to help someone in need.

Correcting ones defeciencies has nothing to do with telling the truth of the Gospel. The Gospel has the power to save, that is what most of us are trying to do, not correct something in someone else, we have no power to do that. But God does have the power to draw the lost sheep of the House of Israel to Himself through the power of the gospel which again is what most of us try and bring here.

I think most morale, responsible people question themselves. We analyze the question and our response. Do we sound prejudging or vain? Vague? Ranting and evangelizing? I am here to see what people think. I answer ones I might know, but, because I am trying to give a clear answer, it gets buried under 30 other posts....that is why you see the 3 word answers

I am perfect.

Naturally I focus on others.

BTW: Your question is grammatically incorrect, unless you wish to end it with the phrase "or correcting your own" as opposed to "or your own" (a phrase, not a sentence) you should remove the comma before "or"

In debate, and conversation their is an exchange of ideas. Competing points of view. Because I disagree with you does not mean I do not respect your ability to exchange ideas.

Honestly, do I really need to explain this? I know you realize the answer!

To answer that, only to the degree that I correct my own deficiencies do I have the light to correct others.

As Jesus said, we are to take the log out of our own eye then we can see properly to take the splinter out of an others eye (Luke 6:41).

Then we correct out of love, seeing properly what to do, rather than chastising because of our own pride.

Didn't read them but, the Bible says that we should get the Beam out of Our Own Eyes befor we try to get the Splinter out of Others Eyes.

If I'm unaware of, or unwilling to admit to my own deficiencies, I have no business correcting anyone else's.
So first I'll get my own corrected, then maybe I can help another with theirs.
