If so how does that make you feel? Would you flee, fight, go underground, or retreat away from the general population?

I wish religious people would stop portraying themselves as perpetual victims on the brink of survival. It may be true that societies have tried to supress religion but to liken one's position in modern America with that of people wishing to worship any god in Maoist China, Protestantism under Bloody Mary of England, anything other than extremist Islam under the Taliban, or unbelievers at some point in most religious societies, is insulting to people who were genuinely persecuted. Be grateful for the freedoms you have and do all you need to hang on to them.

Religion will never be outlawed. Religion is many many wonderful things, but it is also a powerful tool in controlling the masses (I am not anti-religious, but it's true. I study public policy and I love it but I also know that government/policy is used to control people as well.) Most all religions have a narrative of its followers needing to prepare for a time of great persecution - many times this is backed up by historical fact. I think that the worry about it occuring in the future is a way to validate faith; if one day you will be stopped from worshipping, then you must be doing something right.

Yes, I'd go underground. There'd be a lot of us "underground." Get prepared it's coming sooner than we think.

BTW I don't want to sound alarmist, but if Iran or some other crazy leader hits the U.S. with several small suitcase nukes then you might as well throw the constitution out the window. There would be millions dead and martial law would be implemented throughout the land. I don't want to sound doom and gloom, but that is the reality of the world we live in. Our entire economy would collapse in a matter of seconds, along with most if not all of our "rights" we enjoy today. that is a very likely and honest scenario.

Debra M,
Yes I do. But the evidence that they will look for is the lack of the Mark of the Beast. It will be sopmething that they can ask anyone, why they have broken the Law. "Do you refuse to take the Mark?"

I know that typically Roman Catholics do not believe any of this, but that is what I think.

Hiding is the easiest thing to expect from Christians in those coming days. I would expect to pick a place that is either off the beaten path, away from any road, where crops can be grown without interference, or in a place where supplied could be stolen to avoid starvation.

In the USA--NO! Too many people are afraid to die and looking for pie in the sky security. And of course we do have freedom of religion here. However, it would not bother me on bit if ALL the churches were shut down, but it will probably not happen until the scientists can put a mystical experience into a pill. Which some believe has already happened, of course.

I live in the USA and no, I don't believe all religious faith will be outlawed here. Our country was founded on "freedom of religion" and "separation of church and state." That means everyone can practise whatever religion they want without stepping on each others' toes.
However I do like to "Imagine." The world would be more peaceful with no religion.

Religion is not necessary for a close relationship with God.

The various religions all disagree with each other and see their own version as being the one true and only.

How can this possibly be the truth?

Better to seek God within where Jesus predicted he could be found. Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is within Us. He will not be found on a far off cloud called Heaven, or in a building called a church.

Love and blessings Don

Faith can not be outlawed but religious law can be. No need for going underground at 21st century, communications well reach every where.

I certainly hope not because the US was founded on the belief of religious freedom. That is why my ancestors came to America, because in France the Catholic church was persecuting Huguenots and had murdered some of them. The remainder of my family fled to England first and then America, where they could worship as they saw fit.

So I suppose I'd flee to Europe. Ironic isn't it?

i don't feel that that will actually happen. don't we have enough stress in our lives right now? why worry about something that will probably never happen? there are so many of us out here who are dealing with so many different issues that are more important than this issue, and those who have not had to really deal with actual tragedies, like death of a loved one, traffic accidents that cause permanent damage to a loved one or ourselves, illnesses that cause our loved ones to linger on in pain, etc., that they don't really "get" that there are other troubles out there besides what's bothering them at that moment. i suggest that you take the truly "long view" and then ask yourself again, "where can i truly make a meaningful difference in life?" sorry to have preached here, but i felt a need and you provided the medium. blessed be.
