To all you atheists out there... Why is it that, since the universe is so finely tuned to accomidate human life (so much so, that if a cosmic constant is nudged one way or another by 1 in a trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion- trillion percent, all life would cease to exist), science must resort to non-empirical methods to explain it away with a hypothesis that all life here would cease to exist before the light (or any other measurable traits) from any 'multiverse' could be noticable in our location in the galaxy.

Is is possible that belief in such a thing is tantamount to a religious belief, where it is so distant, it can never be known for certain? (unlike God, whose presence will be 100% confirmed as true or false by the time the sun dies out).

And, pretending multiverses do exist, what would happen if two should overlap, say, one where gravity is necessary to create stars, and another where it is not... what would happen?

See Matthew Chapter 5 and Matthew chapter 23 - see Authorised version.

This is not a trick question, because I personally believe Jesus to be the way, the truth and the life, but why is this part in Matthew making him out to say one thing and do another, surely Jesus being a godly man would not have really done this? Have I got the translation wrong? I hope somebody can help me with this one!

We can't imagine time extending infinitely forwards or backwards, so maybe after the end, it will lead mankind back to the beginning of time again.

I have read passionate post after passionate post from professed muslims proclaiming Aisha was Mohammed's 6 year old, 9 year old and 13 year old wife.

I have read contradicting posts that say she was handed over by her father in marriage and others that say she was a volunteer (at 6) desiring to be this old man's (some say he was 50, some say 40) gah! wife.

Some believers in Islam have said she didn't have sex with him until she was a WHOLE 9 YEARS OLD, though she married him at 6. Others say she had sex at 15. :::I'm going CROSS-EYED::::

All these contradictions and all from passionate Muslims who add the "PBU...stuff" after all their religious founder's names.

Why is it that you have all been told, passionatly by your spiritual leaders, all these different things? Why is it that you all can't seem to get the very beginning of your prophet's life figured out?

After having made an application addressed to the parish I have been baptized, in order to make the annotation on the baptized persons’ registry that I don't want to be considered Catholic anymore, the priest has answered after one month with a letter in which it’s written like this: "It is communicated to Mr... that in the baptized persons’ registry of this parish, as on his/her application required, in the date of ... has been recorded the defection from the faith." For those who don’t know what the word “defection” means, there is the definition:1 the state of having rejected your religious beliefs or your political party or a cause; 2 failure, lack, loss. The fact is that I haven’t asked to annotate that I abdicate the faith, because I do have it and there is nothing that can make me renounce it. Is this a loyal and legal behavior? Even if you’re not a priest, your opinion is appreciated.

1. Anything as X as the Universe must have been created
2. God was not created
3. therefore, God is less X than the Universe

If you're a Christian, I assume that you believe statement #2, and if you believe in ID, presumably you can find an adjective (perfect, wondrous, etc.) that can be used to replace the X in statement #1 to create a statement which you believe, such as "anything as wondrous as the Universe must have been created". If you replace the X in statement #3 with the same adjective, logic dictates that either the resulting statement ("God is less wondrous than the Universe" in my example) is true, or that statement #1 or #2 is actually false.

Would anyone care to either 1) refute my logic, or 2) give me a value for X which creates three statements above, all of which you believe?

i don't know about you, but for me, there is no such thing as free will. and yes, I do call my self Christian, incidentally. how weird. I just think that whatever we do in this life, whatever choices we make, there is this force that will trigger us to do as it says. i mean, in the end, everything will all boil down to the will of that force.

seriously, do you think I should reassess my faith?

If a person was on a deserted island, or in life threatening danger, or some other special circumstance, would it be ok for them to self-baptize?

In other words, if this person was alone and allowed God to baptize them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, with water, would this be a valid baptism?

And if not, why? Are there any Bible quotes or other resources that say that one must be baptized by another person, or another Christian?

Hey!!!! I hate when people talk without knowing whats really going on? In the arabic pensisula long time ago (the days when the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him were alive) it was normal for 7,8 or 9 years old girl to get married... Girls at that age weren't babies i mean they used, and till now, to get their first period at that age and they were women enough to get married... Beside why do all the people in the world talking about this issue?? Especially people in the west, this is our noble prophet and we love him more than anything we just don't care what others would say about him!!! I don't know why you don't talk about your culture where 1 of 4 little girls get raiped by their own fathers!!

How can God know the choices that a free moral agent will make in the future given free will? Doesn't it refute genuine human freedom if God knows with certainty what actions an individual will take? I mean, if God knows with infallible certainty that I will ask my girlfriend to marry me at the end of the week, am I free to not ask her? Or is my "free choice" really an illusion?

I mean seriously why? I mean being gay is a sin, and I do think being gay is grossish, but seriously.

There are lots of sins, a kid refusing to take out the trash is a sin (Slothery, not doing work when needed) is he/she going to hell? at one point I believe it was said for girls to keep there hair covered, except when they are home. we all know that lasted eh -.-

to make a long story short, there are alot of sins, but really hearing people say your going to hell because your gay makes me laugh. so the most saintly man/woman is going to hell because they like the same sex? that seems stupid to me.

I think its more like a, i'd perfer you not type thing, except if your parents say, don't eat anything sweet its late at night, you eat it anyway, they will be mad but they arn't going to take away everything you have and put you in juvy now are they?

there are alot more bad things out there then guys doing other guys, I doubt being gay will destine(sp?) you to hell like some say
