i don't know about you, but for me, there is no such thing as free will. and yes, I do call my self Christian, incidentally. how weird. I just think that whatever we do in this life, whatever choices we make, there is this force that will trigger us to do as it says. i mean, in the end, everything will all boil down to the will of that force.

seriously, do you think I should reassess my faith?

A person's behaviour and actions are determined by:
1- The way he has been brought up
2- His genes which affects his/her personality
3- The circumstances in which he has grown up
4- His past experiences

So, where is free will?
A theist may say that he should find the right way inspite of these factors.
Then I say:
Why is he in such a disadvantageous situation than the ones who has been brought up decently, has good genes, has grown up in decent conditions etc...
The concepts "sin,heaven,hell,..." seem irrational.
The self (personality) is just a bunch of memories.
That's why Buddhism is rational because it tells that "self" is just an illusion

The free will given to humans is a virtue of of God, in His goodness and mercy He let us have the power to choose. He wanted children not pets or robots. His omniscience also is a another factor because even if we made the wrong choice as in the case of Adam and Eve He knew that He could step in and redeem us back from our own mistake.Revelation13:8 ... the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. i hope u see that God's giving of free will expresses His respect for His creation, allowing them freedom at the same time providing redemption

Paul talked about the dilemma of a man caught between his desire to do what is good, and his propensity to do what comes more naturally: "For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." (Rom 7:15)

So I see what it is you're asking. Maybe free will ended when Adam brought sin in to the world. We're born into sin and really don't have a choice but to follow our sinful nature.

What we can know for sure, though, is Jesus can sets us free from that sin bondage.

You're asking good questions. Keep asking.

No you shouldn't. What you should know is that as a Christian Jesus is always there leading us to do the right thing. Sometimes we listen & other times we don't, that is the force you feel, it's Jesus!!
Keep the Faith!

Re-assess your faith!! There is no magic-force, it's you. Perhaps, what you are referring to is the inner conflict of what decision to make. And making the right decisions will definitely cause some conflict, because the right decisions are not the easiest and safest ones to make. If doing good was always easy, everyone would do it.

No it is a gift else you just be a pre-programmed robot.
I think you should get accurate knowledge first then get faith based on that knowledge. But we live in a spiritually dark world.
Try Jehovah's Witnesses they could explain what you need to really know and only give you bible not church doctrine.

Free will is the ultimate gift and also the great burden because it makes us responsible for our choices and actions. Without it we would be mere robots acting out a pre-determined program..

Very True... free will is a joke at least..if not cruel !!

Our environments present some pre-decided choices before us and our mind selected one of them, depending upon its limitations, its capabilities and its illumination

And We cry...Well I decided this for me out of my FREE WILL

What else can be called a Joke?

Listen - free will is real love. Because we have the choice to choose Jesus - that is real love. God did not make a bunch of robots. Blessings.

No.
It's the Will of God that makes you post this question, Right?
But still, It is you who post this question, Right?
Everything we do is according to God's plan, right?
God's will is making us do things, But we still do it on our own.
Like a game, If you were to solve a level you must do it a certain way.
But the maker of the game know how you will do to solve it.
But still, it is you who solved it, Right?
We live this life....God planned it.
