What do you feel are good ideas for a parent or parents to work with their adult children to help them find a husband or wife.
I am not asking those who wouldn't help their children. I am only asking those who would.

These are some ways other people have tried.

Parents advertising and interviewing people online and off for their sons/daughters.

Parents going to a church's single's ministry to meet people for their son/daughter.

Parents arranging marriages.

Parents traveling to different countries, etc.

Those are just a few ways I have heard of parents getting involved in their children's lifestyle choices.

I only want to hear suggestions that include the son's/daughter's permission.

Do you know how people did this in Biblical times? If so what scriptures?

If this is not something you would do, please do not answer this question. I already know that this is not for everyone. Please be respectful of other's rights to choose.

It says in the bible in Revelation 20:8, The fearful, and unbelieving, abominable and murderers, and whoremongers shall have their part in the lake of fire.

So the question are you a murderer if you commit suicide?

this is primarily to those who are spiritually/metaphysically blind, that is, that have *NO* sense whatsoever of the "supernatual".

I see people asking and answering, who insist that metaphysical things, ghosts, souls, God, ect... all that stuff, are absolutely, certainly not real.

to these people... how can you be so sure?

how can you be SO confident that you see everything there is to see, to declare this in such a way?

those who believe it, are not (generally) claiming it has scientific evidence, but simply at most, that they have observed it.

if you were born blind, would it be legitimate for you to claim that color didn't exist?

if you are utterly unable to perceive these things whatsoever... how can you be so confident they in fact do NOT exist? rather than simply reinforcing the fact that theres no evidence to known science, or within current scientific method.

so where does this confidence in the non-existance of something you can't see at all, come from?

Genesis 7:6,11, It was the 600th year of Noahs life, 2nd month, 17th day.

Is this a miracle if not why don't people live that long now?

What is funny to me is that people lived to be 600 but the earth is only 6000 years old. Stunningly ironic.

Ok, I've been reading lots of questions about sex before marriage being a sin etc. How come it's not a sin for animals to have sex then? Humans are afterall basically animals.

If it enters at Conception then what about conjoined twins sharing a soul, the zygote splitting a soul in half for identical twins, or worse yet, Fertility clinics freezing souls in human embroys suspended animation? does God have a soul waiting room?

If it enters at the moment of birth, then Abortion can't be murder because it is a souless entity.

. If you have a bible, you might have a concordance in the back section. A concordance goes by words.....so look up 'angels' , and it will give a list of verses that have that word in it. And, some bibles have notations on each verse so that you can look up a relevant verse in another location. Is this a desired feature for some of you? Should we post online concordances?

I was looking through Mudvayne lyrics looking for a song that would suit the book of Nahum for scripture studies (we could use any song) on their album: Lost and Found, and noticed that their songs such as Fall Into Sleep, Pushing Through, and Forget to Remember, could be related to the bible and religion.
Fall Into Sleep: A prophecy or vision told that no one will listen to.
Pushing Through: A nation that took over another nation and brutally ruled over them, but began to weaken, thus ending the brutality.
Forget to Remember: Someone who has had a bad life and is asking God to save him and forgive him.
What do you think?
Also, how much does Pushing Through suit the book of Nahum?

If a Scientist goes on TV and makes claims that are false, or unprovable he is pounced apon by the scientific community.

But if a Pastor or Religious leader goes on TV making outrageous claims without facts or evidence they are given a pass.

Is it because Science needs reproducable evidence to be valid, or is it that we are all awaire of the history of Religion and it's "faith" or lack of need for real facts or evidence?

For example, my cousin is going through hard times right now and believes in God. I am an agnostic, and life is going pretty good for me right now. Why does it seem he is testing her faith but not mine?

Quran 31:10 "...He set on the earth mountains standing firm, LEST IT SHOULD SHAKE WITH YOU..." http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/031.qmt.html#031.010

Ok, so the people who made-up the Quran claim that -- MOUNTAINS PREVENT THE EARTH FROM SHAKING.

Of course, educated people know that the earth can still shake even if there is a mountain, ask the people of Mount Rainer or the still petrified people of Pompeii.

Even small tremors in mountain regions kill people all the time, which is why, if youve ever driven through a mountain side, youve probably seen a sign saying "look out for falling rocks!!".

Mountains are created by the collision of the earths plates, and are thus instead the product of 'shaking' as opposed to the preventor of earth shaking. Also, since we know for a fact that this collision of plates is what creates Mountains, we also know that Allah didnt "set them".

Is it because they go door to door? Think about it...would you have the nerve to go up to strangers and preach to them about your faith? I dare say not. To me, they seem like very decent, law abiding citizens who really know their Bible, and that's a lot more than can be said for a lot of people.
