I was just wondering what others opinions were on the topic. Please state why you believe this. In otherwords don't just say yes or no! NO RUDE REMARKS PLEASE!!!!

Personnally I say yes. I think it is selfish to think that the beings we share this Earth with don't have souls. I believe that even plants have souls. I can often feel their presence. And I have had "conversations" with a few trees. Its kind of like getting good feelings and sending good feelings back in response.

Please don't remark on how "looney" you think I am. I am not mocking you for your beliefs so please show me the same respect!

Also, if you are christian and want to post scripture as a reason why you believe what you believe then feel free to do so!

Peter Carroll in his book Liber Kaos states that 'the acceptance of a single belief makes a person a magician: the meta-belief that belief is a tool for acheiving effects' (Liber Kaos p.77, 1992). With this theory one would believe in any gods or goddesses one chose to in order to suit the the spell under consideration, in effect 'creating and destroying' deities as required. Do the gods have an independent existence - where do they go when no-one believes in them - and is this 'meta-belief' a useful tool or a fallacy in your opinion?

'Belief is a tool rather than an end in itself; one can make real any belief one chooses, including contradictory beliefs' (Carrol p.77).

Why do you think that the bible is true and that the Qur'an isn't? Both Islam and Christianity supposedly have miracles attributed to them, so why do you choose one person's word over another?

If it is all a matter of 'faith', than why do you have faith that Christianity is right and not oh I don't know, Islam?

What proof do you have except that, this book is written by god, I know it's written by god because it says it is, I know it's telling the truth because it's always right, it's always right because it's written by god...

What does Jesus have over Krishna? And how do you know he is god on earth, and not Krishna?

I can't. And I feel so guilty about not being an estactic lover of Christ...why can't I jump for joy to be a child of God? Why doesn't the scriptures uplift me out of this abyss? How do I stop feeling guilty about my depression...and yes, I am on Zoloft. I still have trouble getting out of bed sometimes or finding the motivation to be active or devoted to an activity. Am I just not strong enough of a Christian? Am I lacking in belief or faith or obedience? Explain. Give me some scripture please.

Timothy
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,.....Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;......For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with lusts,

Lovers of their own selves – the obsession to be beautiful, Youtube making it possible for every persoto be famous and compete more aggresively for it.

Covetous – people want more, greed is increasing, people never satistifed. People have no respect for other peoples husbands or wives anymore and don’t even care that someone is married.

Blasphemers – Bill Maher giddy about a church that caught fire and deserved to burn cuz it doesnt pay taxes for fire dept

Unthankful – society becoming ruder and less polite

Unholy – Proliferation of porn, Springer, Stern, gangster rap, etc.

Ok... we all know that one of the ten commandments is Thou shall not steal. But i think i found a loophole! Online Piracy involves no actual Theft whatsoever, merely copying. There isnt a commandment that says, "Thou shall not disobay thy government" So i gotta believe god beleives in P2P! I dont think its morally wrong at all to take from ginormus money sucking corporations.

I am a member of the US Military, and have been working with other people who are followers of non-catholic christianity. More often than not, i have been called a "hellbound" catholic. and frankly in sick of hearing it. I was always taught by the church not to discriminate or hate other religions, so why are they doing it to me?

Supposedly prophet "Adam" built the original kabbah....the first living man apparently new learned how to fabricate materials, design and structure, and build the whole thing without any help!!

Well, then silly Allah flooded the whole world and destroyed the house of Allah (Kabbah). Of course, Allah could have murdered everyone with a flood and still magically protected the Kabbah if it indeed was ALWAYS intended to be the ritual center of ritual slavish worship for the islamic zombie. Why didnt he do that UNLESS the Kabbah really wasnt important to him?

All the above is merely a query which uses attempts to show the ignorant muslim the absurdity of their own created mythology. Educated people know that the Kabbah was created by pagans. The archelogical evidence is 100% on the subject, and Muslims dont deny it, they simply claim Abrham came BEFORE the pagans and the pagans took it over after. Of course, there isnt a shred of evidence to this effect.

Or do you just dismiss it with silly statements like, "I did not come from monkeys" or, "just look around, only god can make a tree."

It's so frustrating seeing such blatent misunderstanding, especially when evolution really isn't saying anything about the origins of the universe, whether there is a god, or if we have immortal souls. Evolution can coexist with all these concepts, but based on all the nonsense I read, I suspect that most Christians don't even have a cursory understanding of concepts like natural selection, descent with modification, environmental pressure, etc. Yet, they malign and dismiss evolution as if they've really studied it, which clearly most haven't!

I was raised Chrisitan, with 10+ years of religious education. I read the bible, studied Buddism extensively, & did cursory investigation into other major religions. I really TRIED to understand religion before I dismissed it. Have you REALLY tried to understand evolution, or do you just parrot Christian dogma?

With so many in the world, how can you be so sure? Muslims, Christians, Catholics, And even atheists, you all have beliefs. Do you have proof of them or can you prove another one wrong? Or do you just believe in it by tradition and what you were told?

Even if you believe in multiple paths to salvation, even that should have evidence of some kind right?
So where do you stand? And why? Are you absolutely certain when your soul is on the line?

Forsake your family. . .?
I have been working full time in a ministry now for a year and a half. at just 18 that might be a shocker.
But i have also been on my own since I was 12.
Both of my parents were drug addicts and left my sister and I to fend for ourselves.
I now live in a different state than the rest of my family, and I miss them alot but I know this is where God called me to be.

Do you think that it is wrong to forsake your family for the call of God?

Mathew 19:29

Additional Details

Maybe I should expand alittle bit. I have resumed contact with my parents, our relationships are getting better everyday, I continue to pray for them all the time.
I just wanted to see what peoples oppinions where on the matter.
I know that I can always do Gods will, But I was called here. I feel that this is the best place for me to be.
the best place to act upon my calling.
Some people have told me that they think it is wrong to choose God over your family, and even though I know that to be false, I wanted to see what other opinions were out there.

I would never joke about something like this.
That is the candy coated version of my life.
when I was younger I had the hardest time understanding why God would put me in a family like mine.
Now I realise that He put me there for a reason.
If I hadent gone through the things I went through I would not be who I am today.

Now I have the chance to minister to people who have experienced similar situations and show them how faithful God really is.
