I've heard that the easiest way to study and memorize scripture is to begin by slecting a Bible with a Concordance. There are a great number of these types of Bibles on the market. Your phonebook yellowpages will list places selling such Bibles under "Religious Goods" or you might ask your pastor for his suggestions. Then begin with the New Testiment which is easier to understand for most people. Look up in the concordance of your Bible for a specific topic that interests you such as love, patience, glory, etc. and then turn to the suggested verse or verses. Some of the study Bibles not only include a concordance but also have brief explanations of what the verse is saying. This should help you to select one verse at a time that you might wish to memorize. Write the verse out on a recipe size card and leave it in a handy place that you can see it many times a day such as on your dresser or next to your mirror, etc. Read the verse and memorize it and recheck your memory of the verse until that is no longer necessary. Then go on and do another verse. Your suggestion of getting support from another Christian was a good one. May I suggest that you ask a nearby friend who is also a Christian and is like-minded or ask someone from your church. Maybe you could become prayer partners and have frequent contact (daily if possible) with each other and pray for the needs and concerns of each other. Heb:10-25 says not to forsake our assembling together......including the encouraging of one another. Perhaps you could also join study groups at your church or a nearby church where there will be people of your same age group and spiritual interests. Good luck to you and God Bless.

Keep reading and praying. If you'd like you can email me with any questions. As far as memorization, ask God to help you and practice. As far as when you're attacked by the enemy...

Luke 12: 11 Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."

God bless you.

Take one scripture at a time and study it like Psalm 23 if you can remember that you will also remember Proverbs 3:5-6 and Philippians 4:19. But if you need to fight back with the word use Psalm 37. Just remember that the LORD will fight all your battles. He said in His words " bestill and know that I am God"

Pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you, as promised by Jesus. Don't try too hard. It will come to you after awhile. Just pray in your own words until you memorize more scripture. God bless you.

Bless your heart, that's the way to go.I would go to a good bible book store and get a small booklet with different subjects with the bible verses relevant to them. Ask a clerk for help. I wish you the best.
