I've never heard this one. Also, if one bit off the pitum on succos it would invalidate the esrog! So, it would seem to be a pretty stupid thing to do, and I somehow doubt it was done (at least not on succos).
personally, I don't put much stock into the myriad segulos which people invent.
on the side: "on have a baby jewish"? I assume you meant "of having a baby". The only way a baby is jewish is if the mother is jewish. Nothing can change that (besides formal conversion).
