Thank you for asking and trying to learn. The sahabah (companions) of prophet Mohame (SAAW) and his wives kept every word he said and every move he made in their memories and delivered it to their students and followers generation after generation. Then there were several of great scholars e.g. Bukhari and Muslim, who collected the several hadith from all over the muslim world and wrote it down in books.
