Yes I think its going to come soon, I had a dream when I was a child, That I was still alive when the Lord returned, and last year my son told me he had had the same dream, I don`t take these dreams lightly, because when I was a child, I din`t know about the end of the world, or how the Lord would return, But I had a dream I was being pulled to heaven, and my mom was watching me being pulled, but she never did anything to help me, she just said its your own fault for reading the Bible.lol I was younger then 9 at the time..I think the anti christ has to be revealed before Christ returns, but that may happen after the Church has been caught up to be with him, im not real sure on that, I have heard preachers preach it, but I read it a little different, and Im sure preachers know more then me, But I believe Im ready to go, I just want my children, and the rest of my family to be ready too.

Yes I do. We have not even begun to know the damage that atomic energy is going to cause. Right now there are thousands of tons of atomic waste stockpiled at nuclear power plants in the US. Many more thousands of tons around the world. We are told that the half-life of this material is 24,000 years and we expect that this material can be safely transported to Nevada and placed in a mountain and nothing will ever happen to it. As I understand this is to begin in 2008. That is one thing. We have been duped into thinking that nuclear power is a good thing. That it was so much cheaper and that is pure garbage. The cost to build these plants and the upkeep of them is unbelievably high. And that is not counting the waste. In the end nuclear energy will prove to be the single most costly source that mankind has ever used. Meanwhile our country has coal supplies that would last for a couple hundred years, maybe. A nuclear power plant or plants will have an accident sooner ot later, that is just common sense.
There is no such thing as a "failsafe." Sooner or later a human or computer error will occur.

Nuclear weapons are in the hands of 8 nations at this time. Surely sooner or later something is going to go wrong somewhere. And there are people in this world that will not hesitate to use any weapons that they get their hands on. Because their cause is more important then any human life.

And the other factor is over-population, an overlooked problem that is getting very near to being at a boiling point. The population of the US will hit 300 million this year. China and India are way over-populated already and we do little or nothing about it. Food will be the factor that will kill off many of us. With less people we could live though droughts and crop failures, and other events. But because we produce so much food we think that we can go on forever and continue the over-population without any problems. That is absurd. Diseases can and will spread 100 times faster then even the flu did in 1918-1919.

As far as food supplies go, if we have another volcanic eruption like Krakatoa, (actually not if but when), we could lose 50% or more of crop production for as many as 5 years. During that time all other food sources will be taken down to very low levels. Even now we over-fish many parts of the oceans. And with more and more people to feed everyday, well, anyone should be able to see what the results will be.

All of what we think we know, all the so-called advances in medicine, will not save us.

It's true that people have been egotistical enough to think they were living in the "last days" since...well pretty much since the first days...
It is also true that people who believe that there are specific signs that herald the end of the world are increasingly putting little ticks in their notebooks and interpreting meanings with a certain amount of evangelical gusto.

I personally don't believe that the end of the world is predictable by prophets or gods, and I believe that so-called "prophecies of doom" do a grave disservice to the human spirit and its determination to survive.

Are we living in a dark time, when hatred and apathy are matched only by technological invention and enthusiasm relatively free of foresight? Sure. Does that sounds like the "last days" as prophesied? Sure. Does that mean the end of the world is inevitably near? Not to me, no. I'd like to think we can mature enough to deal with the responsibilities we have, and that while never being the same as we've been before, we can still look forward to a good human future.

I think its pretty amazing that so many people are asking this question, and so many people seem to think so, why, they can't quite explain, they sense instability on many levels, and that the instability will only increase. Like adding a plate on top of a plate, then adding 2 plates, then 4, then 8 then 16 more, eventually its gonna topple over and crash. People can sense that, as more plates are piled on, that instability grows and they have a growing sense of fear that it will.

Its funny how everyone is having this collective intuition about the end being near. But then again it may be much much farther in the future than we think. Maybe before things really come to total confusion, a couple hundred more years will pass.

I don't know if we will even live to see it, but yes, it is near in a relative sense, I just don't know how near, it could be in 20 years, maybe 200, maybe even 500. We like to think that we are the center and that even something bad like the end of the world will happen when we are alive, in our generation.

We are living in the last days according to the Bible, that was from Jesus until now. What is going to happen is that Jesus is going to return soon, then He will rule and reign for one thousand years. So don't worry about the world, just worry about yourself, because prior to His return the world will have to go through the seven year tribulation period, that if it were not cut short to this period of time no one would survive. The good news is that Jesus is coming in the clouds for His Church, that is all who believe in Him, and have a relationship with Him through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Church will be lifted up to meet Him in the air, to attend the wedding supper of the Lamb (Himself) At the end of the seven year period they will return with Him to rule and reign on this earth for the thousand years. Then the end of the world will come and will be replaced by a new earth.

It is near if you believe it is. Man has believed the end was near since before Jesus times. There are still a few things that must come together according to the Bible for the end to come but it is a constant battle of the theological minds as to when.

The end won't come until the entire world has heard and had a chance to respond to the Gospel, although we have not yet seen the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. Check out the first link below for an article a friend of mine wrote about the post-tribulation, pre-wrath perspective on the Rapture.

What do you mean? Life will go on as usual. It sounds like you're buying into a lot of superstitious crap.
