Aisha was to become the greatest woman scholar in islam. She was so intelligent she absorbed everything and most of the knowledge we have today as far as wife and husband matters is due to her..... So I will say it was destiny..... Allah wanted it that way, without her teachings we would not know all that we know today! Also she was destined t teach other young men and women... as I said she was young and she far outlived the prophet she never married again and she was never seen in public without veil covering she never had children of her own/

Assalamoalakum,

I feel that Marissa's answer is the best I've seen on this subject. I also get so sad when I see people who don't understand certain things about Islam judgeing it the way they do. I know that Aisha(RA)was Mohammed's(PBUH)favorite wife, and it was for so many reasons, that one can't really name all of them. They are too many. We should only hope to be even a fraction as good as she was, truly. I hate anyone trying to blaspheme Mohammed(PBUH), and Aisha(RA). They loved each other. That's all that matters. If it was important at all, her age would be stated in the Quran, but it's not. Therefore, all we need to know is that there was a special connection between them. Aisha was a rare and perfect example of everything good that can possible exhist in a female. That is why Mohammed(PBUH)married her, and loved her the most. Assamoalakum.

Because he was a model in front of a whole nation.
He showed that a 9 year old girl in Arab is actually a grown up.
The hot environmental conditions make the girls & boys grow up there soon & they are able to become parents at that age..
So He showed that A 9 Year old girl is elligible for marriage.

The marriages of Muhammad (PBUH) are actually a teaching that whom can u marry, which laws apply on which condition...etc...

And that She had to become the muslim scholar for women problems..

I mean she was to become a scholar after training from the Holy prophet(PBUH).
Any problem relating to muslim women for example the limits of a women , the rights of women, the parts of women to hide, or what to do about prayers when u r pregnant, or what to do about prayers or fasting when a womans periods are on...or which position women should be while having sex... etc..

I mean whatever that concerns the laws for Muslim women, were taught by this great muslim scholar....

How ??

by being close to Muhammad (PBUH)
He taught Aisha & Aisha taught other women....

Marina.
Can U ever think to talk about some thing private like mensturation/periods to a man u dont know???

Hell!!!
U wont even like to talk about it with ur father or brother or even ur husband or ur Adopted teenager boy.....

And that is why Muhammad (PBUH) MARRIED AISHA.
& not adopted her...

I hope u understand my point & hope u will never put up such questions...

Or when some one else asks this type of question u tell them what I told...

GOD BLESS YOU!!!

In addition to the many reasons mentioned, to strengthen the ties between the Prophet himself (pbuh) and her father Abu Bakr As-sedeeq who was the biggest support to the Prophet in his life time and the first Muslim Kalif after his death.

As salaam alaikum Marina,

we've answered this question many many times before.

and we've only started answering this question in the late 21st century, when ideas of 'age of consent' came into the present society.

the worst enemies of the Prophet, who were alive during his time and always seeking ways to show the Prophet in a poor light, never used this to attack the Prophet's charachter. Why? Because it was an accepted custom in the Arabs of the 7th century to have girls married early.

she was the greatest scholar of Islam who had intimate knowledge about women's affairs in Islam and has narrated many teachings of the Prophet.

ignore the idiots here who pose questions of this nature. They are bigots who think that only their culture is right and everybody else is wrong.

poor them.

1. The Prophet married Aisha primarily for three reasons:

a. To reinforce the friendly relations already existing with Abu Bakr (his closest companion).

b. To educate and train Aisha for the purposes of Islam.

c. To utilise her capabilities for the sake of Islam.

Hey!!!! I hate when people talk without knowing whats really going on? In the arabic pensisula long time ago (the days when the prophet mohammed peace be upon him were alive) it was normal for 7,8 or 9 years old girls to get married... Girls at that age weren't babies i mean they used, and till now, to get their first period at that age and they were women enough to get married... Beside why do all the people in the world talking about this issue?? This is our noble prophet and we love him more than anything we just don't care what others would say about him!!! Just go to your culture where 1 of 4 little girls get raped by their own fathers!! Why no one talks about that ha??
