Think it over in your mind. The faith you practice becomes the only legal regligion. The police enforce practices and participation. Those who refuse to convert, are imprisoned, tortured, and ultimately killed. What would you call that, good, bad? Would you support it? Would you fight back and help the others?

Is it possible for some one to hope for something with such intensity that they will start to believe in it? This is applies to anything in life, such as winning the lotto, or that your child will survive cancer, etc.

For those who belive Jesus was the same God of old testment

Isa 13:16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

Hsa 13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Eze 9:6 Slay utterly old [and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom [is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary.

I am trying to figure out how faith works for some people. Do you agree that faith is a strong sense of hope? Could religous beliefs also be held because of hope.

The day of rest was supposed to be Saturday but we changed it to Sunday for reasons known to man.

From the point of faith, it does not matter what day you have your day of rest as long as you actually do give a day to the lord. So the literal meaning of having to celebrate on a Saturday becomes invalid.

So why can this seperation of faith and from literal meaning not apply to the current religion vs. science?

Why are there so many attempts to validate stories that happen in the bible, like if Noahs Ark was actually built or all that, if it is meant to teach a certain value.

I think it is an insult ot religion to try to scientifically prove events and equally insulting to the approach towards science. Faith comes from within and needs no external justification.

You might think im a religious person myself but im actually not. I am simply pointing out what I feel as the wrong approach toward science and religion. I am NOT Stating which one has more truth.

i am an atheist who never practiced any religion and i dont believe in imaginary gods either. however i find the teachings of jesus and buddha to be very noble and kind. why do christians believe in an imaginary god when they have a wonderful teacher named jesus who lived his life like a god? whats wrong with calling jesus god?

its bad enough that muslims are walking this stupid path of believing in some imaginary allah, but i find most christians to be no different than foolish muslims.

The story of wearing Hijab is interesting to understand that it came out of frustation of Mohamud during his marriage time with Zainab(wife of his oath-son).When feast of Zainab marriage was over ,Mohamud want to enter his wife room but still there were sitting peoples.Actually many came to see how a marriage to the ex-wif of adopted son look like.Mohamud waited much longer to let people depart, but after 5 visits he came back with embarressment.Eventually peoples had gone and he entered Zainab;s room.AT THAT TIME GABRAEL WHO WAS WATCHING HIS FR USTATION BROUGHT _THE VERSES OF VEIL (HIJAB).THe situation of this order revealed that how countless laws were made just for Mohamud which he latter implemented for all muslims.-The Reference is=Amam Bukare book -60 Hadith 316.

If you've ever played chinese whispers, a line of people whisper a sentence to each other one by one. By the end of the line the sentence at the end bears no resemblance to the one at the start. Why therefore do peolpe believe the bible or any other religious scripture which are basically a version of Chinese whispers. in the bibles case it was written over 1000 years later! Also when you consider the time at whic these were written the church was nothing more than a corrupt business taking advantage of the masses. I just don't get it, why should we belive a word that is written?

I'm really considering Catholiscism but I am a lesbian. I like being a lesbian and it's not something I want to change nor do I believe it's even possible to change. I understand that it's not that being gay is a sin but that having gay sex is a sin because I can't marry or procreate the natural way. Still I'm wondering what you think. Say I'm in a very committed relationship with a woman of 20 years. I would never cheat on her and she would never cheat on me. We both live good Christian lives and attend mass every week. But to show our love for eachother we have sex from time to time. Is it still just as much of a sin and will I go to hell for it?

I mean I don't even have a girlfriend now and don't plan to for a long time. I also believe that sex before marriage is wrong and that is why I would only have sex with one woman and after we've been together a long time and plan to stay together for life. Can I still be considered a good Catholic if I have sex with a woman?

I remember seeing an old black and white film clip of the miracle at fatima. It showed hundreds of people walking up the hill, and then total panic as the shadows moved across them. The narrator said that they all saw the sun plumet towards them, thus causing the shadows that were seen on the crowd. Was this actual footage, or a hollywood recreation? Do you really think that the big secret was that the pope would be shot? Or do you believe there is more?

I still maintain my belief that God has already finished his "history book" of humankind up until the end of time, if any. The book has a meticulous details abt every individuals' life, whether you are rich or poor, whom your parents and spouses are, your occupation and so on, its all mapped out!. And the book has recorded sensational events like ww2 or 9/11 even way before it actully took place. the fact that some pyschics manage to tell you something about the future is because they have taken a glimpse of the book. Nostradamus had that ability, but he couldn't change "History" it was not meant to be anyway.
You may argue that wat's the fun if life is preplanned. It is!, you haven't a clue about your own history book, that's the key, you would still be enjoying your life not knowing wats gonna happen next, making decisions along the way with your so called free will, therefore the "fun" is not lost and what will happen will happen, what's meant to be is meant to be.

Here is a prescribed punishment (Kitab Al-Hudud)

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) Said: The blood of a Muslim man who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle should not lawfully be shed except only for one of three reasons: a man who committed fornication after marriage, in which case he should be stoned; one who goes forth to fight with Allah and His Apostle, in which case he should be killed or crucified or exiled from the land; or one who commits murder for which he is killed.
