Christianity is all about love, we worship a God of love, who loved us so much He gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins.

"I'm assuming you're at least somewhat skeptical rather than believing that Greek Polytheism is 100% definitely true. Greek Polytheism being true would mean that the events of the myths are true (e.g. Hercules and the twelve labors), when you die you go to either Mount Olympus or the Underworld in an afterlife. So is this all true? Is Zeus the son of the creator of our universe? Was Odysseus really the hero of the Trojan War? Did Hercules really defeat Cerberus? Are all of these things that comprise a Greek polytheist's beliefs true, thus making Greek polytheism true?" Is Greek polytheism more likely true or false?

I will try to keep it brief. Christianity can be simply learned by following the first 5 books in the new testament. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. All 5 of the books written entail the life and teaching of Jesus.
But it to really get simply the best basics of Christianity, refer back to the old Testament. The first 4 books are the LAWS of Moses and the teachings of the Ten Commandments.
The 10 Commandments are:
Thou shall not have no other gods before me
Thou shall not have any graven images me
Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy
Honor your father and your mother
Thou shall not kill
Thou shall not commit adultery
Thou shall not steal
Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor
Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife
Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's house

Christians believe that God sent his son Jesus into the world as a man, in order to redeem us from past sins and to reconcile us with him.
All those who faithfully accept Jesus as savior and God, and are baptized, become adopted children of God, co-heirs with Jesus, temples of the Holy Spirit, and members of God's church.
Those who keep the faith until death and satisfactorily repent of their sins are allowed to exist eternally with God.
Those who don't go elsewhere.
That's about it, except for the other 1411 pages in scripture.

The basis of Christianity (now) is very self centred and revolves around JESUS, Belive that he died for your sins and salvation is your's , That's it.
Christianity was the religion of God but it has been tempered with and altertered and is now the way satan wants it to be like, and he (satan) attracts humans with fasle salvation which is infact the opposite.
I mean no offence, so please forgive me if I have been blunt.

My definition of Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus Christ, who is God, became the one and only sacrifice for the salvation of mankind. - Jesus is God and there is one, not many paths that lead to God - Jn.3; Jn.14:5-6; Acts 2:21; Acts 4:12; Rom.10:10; Cols.1:20-22; Cols.2:13-15 After we die we go to our eternal reward of heaven or hell. - Salvation is not thru reincarnation or in living a pretty good life. - Whether we put our faith in Jesus while we lived on earth determines our eternal destiny. - No second chance after we die. No purgatory. When we die our destiny is sealed for ever. - Matt.3:12; Matt.25:41; Heb.9:27; Rev.20; Rev.21:27
According to Matthew 7, there will be those who stand before God and call themselves Christian but God will say "depart from me I never knew you". They were not building their lives on a Christian foundation or worldview. They were only Christian in name.
I can not pick and choose which parts of the Bible I will obey if I want to be a follower of Jesus!
A new generation of Christians are buying into the lie that you can be a Christian and pick and choose your values based on your own preferences instead of the absolutes of scripture.
Biblical absolutes, logic and reason are out of style and tolerance, choice and preferences are in.
This shift of worldviews has a great impact on our lives and church.
At one time the word "intolerance" was used for things such as racism but today it is being used against anyone who questions another person's values or belief system.
In the new worldview everything is relative. There is no right and wrong beliefs. There is no objective set of absolutes other then what the individual of community chooses.
The new measure of morality is "If it doesn't hurt anyone it is ok"
Of course this is all based on a lie. All sin hurts not only the individual but those around them and the very fabric of a society.
Anyone who claims to have absolutes is viewed as the new radical fundamentalists of society.
The scriptures, not the preferences of man are the basis for truth and so we have both authority and responsibility to speak and share our faith.
Ezek 3:18 When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
The universal truth for all cultures and peoples is written in the Bible:
John 14:5-6 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
What have you decided about Jesus?
Have you embraced not only Jesus but his teachings? Are you living a biblical worldview?
Are you walking in obedience to the absolutes of His word as the authority in your life for the decisions you make?
If not, according to the Bible, you really don't love Jesus. Jesus said in John 14:15: "If you love me you will obey what I command". In other words if you love Jesus you will live by a Biblical worldview.

The belief is that God the Father in heaven overshadowed Mary and Jesus was boen of the virgin birth. He lives a perfect life here on earth and then died on the cross to pay for all sin past pesent and future. By believing in Christ and seeking forgivenness we are forgiven of our sins and wew try very hard to not commit those sins again.

I'm thankful you want to learn about Jesus and Christianity. I hope what I say will be only a first step for you, and that you'll continue to grow in your understanding.
A Christian, very simply, is a person who has decided to be a follower of Jesus Christ. As you may know, Jesus lived in the Middle East about 2,000 years ago, and after preaching and teaching for about three years, He was put on trial and executed by His enemies. The Bible (our source of information about Jesus) tells us that three days later He came back to life by the power of God, and was taken up into Heaven. Someday He will return to conquer evil and rule over everything in perfect justice and love.
What sets Jesus apart from every other religious leader or philosopher? Simply this: The Bible says He was God in human flesh—completely man, but also completely God. He came to earth for one reason: to reconcile us to God. Sin had separated us from God, but Jesus (who was without sin) took all our sins upon Himself, and He died in our place.
Why did He do this? The Bible says the reason is because God loves us, and He wants us to be with Him in Heaven forever. It says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). I pray that someday soon you too will become Jesus' follower, by giving your life to Him.

Briefly, the basis for our faith is the knowledge that there is no way that any man (or woman) can fulfill God's demand for righteousness. We trust in Jesus for that. That is why He (God) came to earth as a man (Jesus) and died for me and you, to satisfy the law. The God of creation loves you that much.

The atoning death of Jesus Christ for our sins is the Heart of the Gospel, Paul said "I declare to you the Gospel...that Christ died for our sins according the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scripture. The death of Jesus Christ secured our Salvation; His Resurrection guarantees our Eternal Life.
