I still maintain my belief that God has already finished his "history book" of humankind up until the end of time, if any. The book has a meticulous details abt every individuals' life, whether you are rich or poor, whom your parents and spouses are, your occupation and so on, its all mapped out!. And the book has recorded sensational events like ww2 or 9/11 even way before it actully took place. the fact that some pyschics manage to tell you something about the future is because they have taken a glimpse of the book. Nostradamus had that ability, but he couldn't change "History" it was not meant to be anyway.
You may argue that wat's the fun if life is preplanned. It is!, you haven't a clue about your own history book, that's the key, you would still be enjoying your life not knowing wats gonna happen next, making decisions along the way with your so called free will, therefore the "fun" is not lost and what will happen will happen, what's meant to be is meant to be.

Your word 'Predestined' is somewhat correct.
Everyone's life depends on his previous Karmic history. This history is set out in the inner mind - which chinese call to be the 'Alaya'. Some psychics could read into this Alaya and are able to mention or predict the future of a person.
Even the lines on the palm are based on this karmic history. That is why the future could be predicted by interpreting the lines on tha palm.
I understand that people who practise meditation for a long period of time and have reached deep meditation could tap into this 'Alaya' and even change what is in the Alaya. Of course by the time that they reach such a stage any love or craving for property, wealth and comforts would be gone - they will desire only good health and a peaceful death.

If you can't prove in any way that I don't have a free will does it matter at all that I don't? If I still make decisions and still deal with consequences. If I still have choices I need to make as I go through life does it matter at all if someone somewhere who will never advise me on what I should do knows the decisions I will make? If a tree falls in a forrest with nobody around to hear it does it matter if it makes a sound or not?

My wife told me i don't love you any more. on the way back to the hotel my hand Begin to feel funny, i pulled over, the Palmer Arch artery in my right hand there at the wrist, was every prominent. there was a feeling of blood being pumped into my hand,? a saw a mark come over what i found out later, was my heart line. it stretched out ALL the Length of the line. it stayed a red mark for over two tears, it finally became a cal-us. i scratched for years at it with my finger nails. there is still a kind of little place long thru there, above the heart line. i read later in Job somewhere that God made a mark on the hand of man so that all men may know his work, its there in the bible.I loved Minute. that was her Nick name. I later got into palmistry it has on your hand every single thing that has and will happen in your life.I have had people pull there hands away from me, while reading there palms. and looked at me. wild and walked off.I was so correct

Everything is predestined. If we knew every chemical reaction and all the different variables of a single person, we'd be able to predict exactly how they would respond to every situation. It's interesting to think about, but there are so many variables that this isn't conceivable in the near future.

IT IS DIFFICULT TO SAY......
you do have a free will AND there is destiny..
both exist together...
but that is contradictory..but true as i understand it and as i have experienced it...many times in your life when in doubt you take a decision either based on your emotions or your intelligence.. you have a free will to decide about your future..choose a path...but the larger picture is predestined..so we do have a free will to decide OUR future but when you try to change the larger picture you do succeed after lots of hard work and that is why they are called great people. NELSON MANDELA...MAHATMA GANDHI... are two of the few people who could do this .

I don't think of predestination in the same way. I imagine it more like an unimaginably vast program on a computer...with lots of 'dice rolls' which might as well be predetermined anyway. Our poor 'free will' is overwhelmed by the environment that we come into, if it ever existed in the first place. Think about it, what do you believe, why do you believe that? If you DO think hard about it...perhaps this is one of those 'dice rolls' in your life. Which direction will you take now.....it might as well be written!

You are suggesting that "freewill" is a controlled concept. Freewill has it's purpose....but is actually irrelevant, due to the concept of "divine intervention"...intervening when a person's "freewill"...is out of context with the greater picture??
It makes sense to me! The Higher Power...created a scenario and regardless of the "zig zag" path that people choose to take...the end result will be the same anyways?
I agree!

My advice is to stop thinking like that and assume responsibility for yourself. That leads to feelings of justification for whatever happens to you in life. Your life is in your own hands, though there are a large number of things that you cannot control, there are also a large number of things that you can.

No, it's not predestined. You make up your own mind, make your own choices, and are responsible for your own actions. Not some demon that resides in a firey pit, or some sky monkey that flies around.

I guess that must mean I was destined to answer this question and I had no control over it...what would have happened if I didn't? I like to think we have some control over our lives!
