i am an atheist who never practiced any religion and i dont believe in imaginary gods either. however i find the teachings of jesus and buddha to be very noble and kind. why do christians believe in an imaginary god when they have a wonderful teacher named jesus who lived his life like a god? whats wrong with calling jesus god?

its bad enough that muslims are walking this stupid path of believing in some imaginary allah, but i find most christians to be no different than foolish muslims.

I understand how frustrating you must feel with all the curruption in the world which is probably why you have such anger.

Christianity and Islam both have an interminable amount of history regarding violence. Both Religions have suffered persecution and judgment. Nonetheless, as an athiest, I guess the biblical scripture, "FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR AND THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN" does not mean anything to you.

Nor do the 77 branches of faith according to Islam, mean anything to you. This too is very beautiful knowledge. I hope that should you keep searching for a faith to believe in, let it be a good GOD, and I hope that you someday become spritually complete. Good luck.

Muslims say that allah is the same god as is the God of the Hebrews and the Christians. I am a Christian and I call Jesus God. You say that you find Christians and Muslims to be foolish. Hypothetically; what if you are the fool?

Atheists say that they believe in nothing. If atheists believe in nothing they believe, because atheists choose to believe in "nothing". It takes faith to believe in nothing. Show me your nothing? How can there be nothing when I see the evidence of creation all around me. Atheists are the smallest group of believers on the planet. Half of the scientific comunity doesn't even believe in evolution. If you are a true atheist you will not even believe in evolution. If you don't believe in evolution then where do you come from? If you do believe in evolution than you are a humanist. Do you have any hope? If you don't what is the meaning of your life? Who will remember you after your great-grandchildren have passed on? Who is the fool here?

Here is something to think about. The Christian Church has about 1 billion members. The Catholic church has about 1.5 billion. Budism has about 1 billion or more members. Hindus have about 1.3 billion members and there is plenty of other religions like wica and satanism.

Have a nice day.

First off it is not nice to call any one a fool. Secondly becuase you do not understand our religion is no right to call anyone a fool. Jesus Christ gave us the example of a man living perfect life here on earth. He is the Son of God theFather and even He acknowledges this. To dishonor Jesus by calling Him the one and only God without the Father would be wrong.

if you ever get to meet a real christian you will see they believe that god and Jesus are the same. Plus I would rather believe in God or Jesus and be wrong when I die. than not believing and finding out they were right and ending up in hell

What really amazes me is people who claim they're atheists, but who seem to have nothing better to do but hang around the R&S pages, harrassing religious people...

aren't you guys supposed to have figured it all out? Why do you hang around here when you have no repsect or value for any religion??! Or may be you think you're on some kind of a mission or something...

You must have study a Bible somewhere down the line if you know about Jesus's life. What you need to is study it some more, because come judgement day when Jesus Christ judges us all, you'll have to answer for your question.

The problem is simple, children learn religion( god belief) from parents, or authority figures, ( grandparents, teachers, cousins, uncles, siblings) etc.

Calling them foolish isn't fair until they have been taught critical thinking skills.

Faith is believing something you know isn't so. (Samuel Clemens)

uh unh- I'm not touching this one!

I agree Jesus was a great teacher, and Mohammad was too.
Too bad we cant just leave it at that and have everyone practice their gentle ways without fighting.
