That might explain the obvious oversight. If they didn't see any other animals that looked like them, they wouldn't have considered the relationship.

and they have proved that our species and the one we "evolved" from lived side by side a the same time...how much more proof would the religios need... before you cannot argue that we evolved? if you are religious, when would you begin to believe that we evolved? how much proof would you need to change your mind of where we came from. its a serious question for debate... not a shot at religion

Some may think ha ha your an idiot, some may think they want to debate me.

Imagine being at home one night and an instant message comes from jim darwin, wondering if atoms have souls.

Funny, people get in their little boxes of religion or theology, and consider all questions that are different from their realm to be mocking their religion.

Then they shoot their mouth off about wanting to debate.

Its yahoo answers, questions are going to be asked.

Do tomatoe seeds need love in the fertile ground? Do tomatoes have souls?

Bible teaches that God has his eye on the sparrow that falls to its death, wouldn't it be logical to wonder, does God have his eye on every tomatoe that is squashed into ketchup?

We all know the people on here who absolutely will not budge an inch from their beliefs, and this question is directed mainly towards them. However, I'd love some input from all sides.

Those of you who think that your religion is the only right one....Would you let a black man eat off your best China?

Would you let your daughter date a Jew?

Would you give the keys to your house to your Hispanic neighbor?

Would you patronize a shop owned by the Muslims down the street?

Are you as intolerant of another's color (we are all members of the human race) as you seem to be of their religions?

If you say that you would definately allow the things I've mentioned, does that make you a hypocrite?

Why isn't there a louder outcry in the Muslim world against terrorism? Islam is a peaceful religion and a lot of the things that extremists are doing and saying are against the teachings of Islam. Why don't more Muslims step up to explain that this is not the way Muslims think? Even Muslim websites do not do this! Please explain to me why more Muslims aren't more outspoken about controlling extremism in their own religion? I find that most other religion's fundamentalist are usually mocked or looked down upon but there just doesn't seem to be the same reaction in the fundamentalism in Islam. Why is this?

"I am a follower of the way of Jesus. I understand that it is very hard when people misunderstand your faith. And it makes many sad and angry when violent men and women deliberately stir up even more misunderstanding .

On the one hand, I know that many respectable sincere people practice Islam faithfully. And I find their discipline refreshing and inspiring. But, I confess that I don't have a particularly high trust of Islam in general. The persecution of Christains in other countries is just too great to be simply incidental. "

I have just been told that I have leprosy.
My gramps is in the bathroom downstairs and he is severely constipated.
I hear him growling menacingly.. and I am terrified.
He is in a wheelchair and I don't want him to get hurt if he pushes too hard.
He may have a seizure.
This morning he was making a malnutritious breakfast of orange rind pancakes. I told him to stop, as he was about to put arsenic in the batter, (he has cataracts) but he didn't listen. And I think his severe constipation may be related to this. I was smart enough not to eat the pancakes... but you know.. he is elderly after all.
Anyway... I seem to have eaten too many eggplants and I have been blowing chunks all over my grandpa's bedsheets. He hasn't noticed yet because he has severely impacted cataracts.
I shoved a can of beans up his nose, and he told me to GO FISH.
Unfortunately, I threw that game away 4 years ago..
What should I do?

Since my initial questions got knocked back a few pages and there were some questions about the concept, I figured that I give it another go.

Since there have been some questions about debates today, I wanted to know who would you put on debate teams to discuss their beleifs.

The teams would be:

Christians
Jewish
Islam
Agnostic
Atheist

Pick three members for each team (for a total of 9 participants), they have to be a semi-regular to regular poster in this section...

My definition is that if an atheist's statement is "I believe that there is no god", then they are an agnostic. An atheist's statement should be "I know there is no god"

If you already answered, feel free to answer again...

Oh and no voting for yourself

Amendment I (1791) to the Constitution specifically states Freedom of Religion.
No where does it state the rights of Atheists or Agnostics.

Is this relevant?
Is this topic open for interpretation for the individual or since there was no specific wording for non-belief, does that mean it has no inalienable rights under the constitution?
