...that God created all things: Heavens and earth, man, free will, good and evil....

What exactly was the purpose of God creating Evil? Other than to torment the creations he purportedly loves, why would God send Satan to earth to coerce God's creations into Hell? What kind of an all loving God would create man, then create a place to torment him for eternity? God did create it all, did he not? Then whats the point of creating a place for eternal damnation if he is all loving?

It seems that a day can not go past without 'islam' being offended in one way or another. Is it really necessary for the media to report about the muslim whining each day?

I dont think the muslims are doing themselves any favours. The west is rightfully wary of islam, and i suppose the muslims have bought it on themselves - the war on islam that is.

If we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God does this mean that we all are going to hell. You make think ofcourse not but who actually goes to heaven is it only the perfect people? Is there any one sin that won't be forgiven?

I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we believe it is wrong to fight wars or engage in any nationalistic or political activities. However, I see many so-called Christians who believe those who don't take up arms are seditious and a threat to society. I would also like to point out that I am NOT afraid to die for my beliefs, but I will not KILL for them because of my belief in nonviolence and neutrality in war.

I know someone who has cerebral palsy. He is a very good person, but has no belief system and I know his life is much harder because none of his suffering makes sense to him. When I asked him if there was a reason he didn't believe in God, his response was "Look at me...." Could anyone recommend any books that might help? I'm looking for something I could give him to read, hoping that in the middle of darkness, he will reach for it and it will make sense of the suffering that I cannot explain to him. I've tried from every spiritual angle I can think of to present the idea of faith to him and he won't have it. If you don't have a suggestion for a book, please don't bother replying. I am looking for a specific answer to my specific question.

we should be debating? This place is filled with debates regarding evolution. Yet, we never discuss how life first began.

Atheists/agnostics: In your view, how did the first organelles pull together to form the first unicellular creature? Is it scientifically sound to conclude this could happen without assistance? If it is, why haven't we ever documented any new life forms on earth (I'm not referring to new species; I'm talking about a completely new form of creature)?

Please, respectful, thoughtful answers only.

Peace.

most religions are against it because the bible tells them it is wrong. some will say only a man and a woman can have and raise children, what about single dads who have custody of their child? are they not fit parents when the mother is not involved?

second, there are people who do not believe as you do. some would rather have a civil union. why do you feel the need to control what these people do? is it because your bible tells you to?

I just read an answer from a previous question and she quoted the following below. But I didn't read anywhere in there that being GAY is a sin. It doesn't lay with another man either. So what is the exact quote please. I would like to read it exactly. If it isn't there exactly, then it is up to interpretation - right?

If he is all knowing, why do you bother praying? He already knows what you want, right? Is he so insecure that he pouts or gets mad when you don't pray?

The most preposterous notion that H. sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all history.

Did you know that the “Palestinians” could have had their own country as far back as 1948 had they accepted the UN sponsored partition plan which gave Israel AND the Palestinians a countries of their own on land which Jews had lived on for thousands of years before Mohammed ever had a wet dream about virgins?

The Arabs rejected the UN offer and went to war with the infant Israeli nation. The Arabs lost and have been whining about it ever since.

Do you agree this is like a murderer who kills his parents and asks for special treatment since he is now an orphan?

This is a true incident.
When i was asleep, it was about 3 in the morning. I felt I was being manhandled by unseen spirits, I felt they where evil spirits. They where like making me crush up and I was not able to even gasp for breath. I was totally aware of what was happening, but i couldnt move my body not even my hand or my leg.
I tried my best to move my body and wake up from bed and my heart was throbbing at full speed.
Susddenly soem anonymous call came at 3 in the morning, and then the loud noise from the mobile phone was able to make the unknown and unseen spirits release my body. As sson as i lifted the call it was cut off. Next day I made a call to that number, the other person said that he happen to call a wrong number. May be that person doesnt want to reveal his identity. His voice on the phone sounded like an elder.
I felt something in the unseen plane had helped me by making the call at that night. Infact I never recieve a call at night, that too from an unknown.

I asked this a couple weeks ago, I felt like reviving it again today.

Let's play a little game.

Think of someone that you know that has a different religious viewpoint than you.

Say something nice about them here.

If you don't know the person well enough to say something nice about them, then why do you know enough to say bad stuff about them?
