I just read an answer from a previous question and she quoted the following below. But I didn't read anywhere in there that being GAY is a sin. It doesn't lay with another man either. So what is the exact quote please. I would like to read it exactly. If it isn't there exactly, then it is up to interpretation - right?

Something being a "sin" just means that someone wants to control people's behavior. Money and power, get it?
People often confuse BELIEVING IN GOD with BEING GOD. There is a differance.

I have never read it in the bible. I have been told that it is in the newer versions of the bible. But it in not in any of the old bibles.
I read what Carol M wrote. I read NOTHING in there that said that it was against God and his word. I personally know a lot of gay and lesbians, and I know for a FACT that this is NOT their choice to be gay or lesbian. So that would say to me that it must be okay because GOD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES IN HIS CREATIONS.
I would like to know when God died and so many people took his place? It appears to me that many people are now the judge of others. Why can't we just let people be happy with who they are and leave them alone? That is really what God wants for us.
I think it is awful that we don't recognize same sex marriages. Because if you are with someone as couple what is wrong with it? Why is it wrong to love someone. Why does it matter if it is same sex or not? I don't understand all of the judgments that go on in this world.

You've gotten a lot of personal-guided opinions already. I'd say find another storybook to read.
The bible has been (mis)interpreted many many times, and with each (mis)interpretation, the changes are reflected by MAN..to be viewed as his own personal beliefs.
People that live by the bible are indeed sheep..and they are being led to the spiritual slaughterhouse each day. It's so sad.

Gays and homosexuals are the exact same thing. It does not refer to people in the "happy" sence the way Gay use to mean years ago.. They are homosexuals, and you know it.

No matter how many times this question is asked, the answer will not change. Homosexuality/lesbian/gay is a sin.

Get over it and repent of your sins.

What was one reason Sodom was destroyed? Genisis 19:4,5
Deutoronomy 23:17 speaks against male prostitutes ....they weren't there for the women.
Judges 19:22 speaks of the practice in a negative sense.
1 Corinthiians 6:9 is the reference I believe you are familiar with.
Romans 1:27 refers to the practice and verse 32 calls it obscene.

It doesn't! Because being homosexual is not a sin and no-where in the bible does it talk about it being a sin.
The only thing it talks about is anal sex and that is in reference to laying with a man as you would a woman (penetration)
Jesus told us to love our neighbor as yourself and to love God. If you follow those then the ten commandments take care of themselves and the rest of the BS is not important.
Oh and Gary is using a bible that has been adulterated by modern translation.
And Sara blue if it is not mentioned in the bible then it is legal sorry to have to tell yo that stupid girl.
Gail R being homosexual is natural to some people so what would be shameful is if we gave up our natural inclinations and tried to be heterosexual an unnatural one for us.
Homosexuality is not about acts it is about how our hearts work as regards to attraction. If I never had any sexual contact with a man I would still have these feelings and living a sexless life is not desirable. Neither is living a lie with someone I am not attracted to even if I do love her.

It doesn't take a genious to understand why certain types of
sexual activity are bad for us. The body works hard to get the
poisons out of it.
Then people engage in types of sex that get the bacteria right
back into the blood stream. There are STDs, (sexually
transmitted diseases), that one won't even know they have.
Their body will fight it off, but it will leave one sterile. Unable
to have children. And I had a girl who loved children. But her
lifestyle as a crack addict and prostitute had left her sterile.
It was heart wrenching. Don't play the fool. There are spiritual
aspects to using someone for sex that will have to be atoned
for later as well. BELIEVE THAT!

Romans 1:26-27

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
There are several verses on it.

If you have a question about what "lie with" means, here is the most literal translation for the Hebrew that I could find: "And with a male you dot not lie as one lies with a woman; abomination it is."
It is speaking of sexual relations between two men.
