I am curious about Buddism. Where is a good place to start to learn about this religion? Anyone out there practicing?

Yes I am a western version of a Buddhist. The Asian Buddhists are different from what they call 'white Buddhists'. Read Buddha's teachings at the source. Then, if you decide this is for you then you are a Buddhist too. Talk to every Buddhist you can find. Most places have a Buddhist temple, go there. They are usually friendly.

I am not Practicing, but I have studied it.
It is a very peacefull religion, I learned about it through books and research, but another good place to go, if your town has one, a buddist temple would be more than happy to give you some information. Good luck on your quest. Hope it works out for you,

Richard Gere is a Buddist. Internet is a great way, also, pick up some books.
I am part asian, but i don't know much, only that it focuses on reincarnation.
