What kind of a debate would that be anyway? Would not the Earth is round person say let's go to the edge of the shore and watch the ships as they sail, and look how as they go out farther they dip? and go out of sight but come back?

What possible debate would there be?

What possible piece of evidence does the person who believe in a flat Earth have? What response of intelligence would be given to defend the world view the Earth is flat?

Does the person who believe the Earth is round have any obligation to debate someone who believes the Earth to be flat?

Can you live in peace?

Look, at your history before your faith was politicized by religious leaders interested in their own power. Be honest, hate is what gives them purpose and a livelihood. So how long will you allow yourself to be manipulated?

What is wrong with a multi-cultural society where people are accepting of others? Are you saying that your faith will not allow that, or your leaders will not allow that? Can you accept the free expression of religion in your society?

What do you need to do create peace and moderation in your society?

I'm sure the West would be happy to not interfere, if you could do that. The dialogue must change, so Americans and other countries do not have to fear of more terror coming from your countries.

If someone who believes the sun and planets go around the Earth wanted to debate you, would you debate them? Why?

Wouldn't this be an exercise in heres the telescope look through it record some observations for a few weeks time?

Hasn't the cosmology that the Earth is in orbit around the sun been proven? Why would anyone feel the need to defend such a notion in a debate, isn't this more something we learn in science class?

I'm just some guy. Most people don't know who I am. There are some who are my friends.

Why would I want to debate anyone on topics of religion and science, with some stranger from yahoo answers?

Why can't I just go home and have instant messenger with my friends, or play trains with my son when he is awake and not watching a cartoon?

Why do people feel the need to debate the yahoo answers religion and spirituality icons?

If you like reading jim darwin's questions cause they are funny and entertaining and make you think, answer them.

If you don't like them, don't answer them.

But just cause you don't like me or my world view, doesn't mean I have an obligation to "debate" you. They sell lives on ebay go get one.

KNOWLEDGE is like a PUZZLE. The more knowledge we gain. The more pieces of the puzzle we put together. And the easier it
is to find the MISSING pieces.

If you church leaders say you cannot do anything without their persmission (not even if God says otherwise). You can't make any move without consulting them first. Does it then make church a prison? What if they make rules for you that your supposed to follow that are not anywhere in the word, but use the word to install fear in the people? Why is it when a church leader has issues it's their nakedness & you should accept them, but when it comes to the "no name no title Christian" they are going to hell when they do something wrong? Why is it a person is out of the will of God (even though God told them to leave) when they leave a church? A true "leader" should be proud that a christian learns to get God for themselves? So why aren't they?

I am reading Nehemiah. I had never really given any time to this book, but His example of being a man of prayer is really encouraging and beautiful.

What are you currently studying and what are you gleaning these days?

Pretty much everyone is offended by something in here, do the little things like generalizing and being "Politically Correct" really matter in this board?

Who is offended that I asked a question like this?

other people things like... "Do you know Jesus?" " Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?" or something along those lines? I believe in God and that Jesus died for me but I hate it when others ask those things. Isn't my relationship with God between me and God especially since He is the only one who truly knows my heart? Christians should not judge, right? So are they asking these questions based on their judgement of what you wear, drive, or look like? When asked this question I feel like saying " As a matter of fact yes I do, and it's between me and God. And how dare you assume that I don't." Seriously, does anyone else agree or can anyone answer this seriously? I also understand what witnessing for God means but there is a line between witnessing and judging.

Please note this is a genuine question, not written to be offensive...

Like some religions seem to prohibit things like make up on the ladies... watching tv...

Which of you actually do follow by the book... no matter which book it is you are reading from...

And do you think if someone does not practice there religion by the book, then they are actually not religious at all, and should stop being hypocritcal of other faiths etc?

Ie George Bushes rants seem to border the inflammatory... and some religious leaders also seem to disrespect peoples free opinions!

All religions teach respect... So really where has the respect gone?

Peace!
