I don't know much about Islam, but I've heard that the Qu'ran calls on Muslims to kill all infidels. Is this true? Could the Muslims here please clarify this for me?

Jihad is an order comes only from the highest ranking spiritual Mullah in Muslim religion.those people are choosing by a very complicated way, almost the same like the Pope.and there a few of them in the whole world.no one else other then them can announce the Jihad.the rest like Osama or Zirkawi or...Bullsh!t has no right to annouce such thing like Jihad.they're a killers on the name of Islam.
Quoran never calls on Muslims to kill, but at the same time he calls to deffend yourself if you been attacked witch is fair enough .

Nowhere does the Holy Quran recommend violence. Quran purely helps retaliation that too prefers forgiveness to retaliation. you have misinterpreted the Holy Quran. a genuine Muslim could desire to forgive. as far as Jihad is in contact a genuine Muslim could desire to salary Jihad against the unseen enemies of Islam it is lack of know-how, Illeteracy, Backwardness, incorrect information and so on. and so on. As of today those are the worst enemies of Islam.

Depends on the interpretation one chooses. Truly spiritual
people choose the concept that jihad, Holy War, is the
struggle within. To overcome ones own demons. And thereby
being able to live in peace with others.

"As far as Islam is concerned, it categorically rejects and condemns every form of terrorism. It does not provide any cover or justification for any act of violence, be it committed by an individual, a group or a government..... I most strongly condemn all acts and forms of terrorism because it is my deeply rooted belief that not only Islam but also no true religion, whatever its name, can sanction violence and bloodshed of innocent men, women and children in the name of God."

(Reference: "Murder in the Name of Allah" by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad)
