If and When you have children, what will you teach them about religion? Will you tell them that your beliefs are correct and all others are wrong? Will you encourage them to explore different religions in order to find the one that suits their beliefs? Will you make them go to church every Sunday?

Personally I am agnostic but I do not plan on pushing my beliefs on my children. I will encourage my children to research all world religions and make their own decision based on what rings true in their hearts and minds.

I have strong convictions however I personally do not believe in parents pushing their beliefs on their children. To me, choice of religion is a decision that should be make by an individual.

If a child is raised in a Christian church (for example) and that is all they every know, of course that is what they will believe because they know nothing else.

Why do you think people of religion are always asking why we Atheists are in this forum?

Everyday I see someone ask this question. They always say "If you don't believe, then why are you here?"

Do they see us as a threat? A disruption?

Why don't they want us here? Your opinions, please.

Salamu alaikum.

I know that most of the 1.1 billion Muslims in the world do not agree with radical extremism, neither with organizations like al-Qaeda, who give a bad name to Islam by justifying terrorism with their misguided interpretation of certain suras in the holly Quran (I am just quotting Muslims who anwered my previous question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArV4TM7rYh91CdOiEY0t65Psy6IX?qid=20060919091119AA3OWwj

My question is, why peaceful Muslims do not go out to the streets to demonstrante against those who tarnish the peaceful nature of Islam? Would your lives be in danger if you did so?

I clarify that I am a Buddhist. I am asking this question with all due respect, because I am interested in promoting understanding to overcome the current impasse.

I shall be grateful if you could let Muslims answer this question, since we should all know what they actually think. Thanks!

A national database states that about 2% of priest have molested minors over the past 40 years. Since 1960 nearly 100,00 men have served as priest, that means that 2000 of them have molested children, many of them repeat offenders even after they were caught. It's safe to assume that all have not been caught. With this in mind would you allow your child to be in a situation where they could be alone with a priest keeping in mind that the parents of those that were molested probably thought they knew there messenger of God as well as you think you know yours?

But never for the good? Why is it always God's fault? There are somethings that are no one's fault... it is just life. Things just happen. But, I do think there are reasons behind it. Ways that the bad is used for betterment.

if you are an athiest, why do you post in the religion section at all. If you are not interest, or don't believe, what does it matter if we do? Why not leave us to our "fairy tale" as it is refered? I don't really need answers, I just wanted to put that out there.

Okay so I’ve had many answers to my question here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060920070707AAZIZAO&r=w

And EVERY Christian that answered said aliens didn’t exists because
1)it wasn’t mentioned in the bible
2)they haven’t seen any proof

Am I the only one that finds this hypocritical? I mean Dinosaurs exist but it’s not mentioned in the bible – (I could be wrong but I’ve have several Christians mention this to me.) And 2 they believe in God without solid proof yet why can they not believe in aliens???

Yes there are people that claim to be abducted etc – just like people claim to have seen angels or God. So what is the difference? Are they bias?

If there is a one true religion, then how come it has not appeared in two isolated spots? Religion seems to me to be something spread by culture and how you are raised. How come one cannot become a Christian unless you meet a Christian and are conditioned to become one?

whenever an answer comes regarding this type question someone always says the radicals are a minority.
what difference does it make if they are?most germans were not nazi's,most russians weren't communists, most italians weren't faciasts.my point is it's not necessary to be in the majority to do evil.
these so called moderates hold a rally once in a while and one or two speak out against the radicals but all in all they are silent.
spare me the line about they are busy being normal people.
there was a quote that said something about, for bad to exist requires good people to do nothing.,or something like that.

As the Nature is indifferent to life , I'm not convinced that GOD will reward your good deeds.

Religon is spoonfed and we could not say no to our parents beliefs weather its right or wrong. And we have to protect the lies in our religion books and show the others a fairytale story which is not applicable to the modern world.

dont give me crap like " bibal this page that page, mosas , allah , quran this verse . " not through ur traditional religous beliefs here. I want a good answer. To give a good answer you have to remove your religous colored glasses which you are wearing.
