Why do peaceful Muslims do not demonstrate against radical extremists?

My question is, why peaceful Muslims do not go out to the streets to demonstrante against those who tarnish the peaceful nature of Islam? Would your lives be in danger if you did so?

I clarify that I am a Buddhist. I am asking this question with all due respect, because I am interested in promoting understanding to overcome the current impasse.

I shall be grateful if you could let Muslims answer this question, since we should all know what they actually think. Thanks!

I think it's the simple fact that they know that their opposition will only bring more controversy. It's extremely sad that extremists from ANY religion use the name of their God (s) to do what they do out of their own fears and selfishness.
The extremist Muslim idea is that it was fought for before with violence, and now it must be done again.
So sad... so sad for the non-believers and for those who are seeking the truth. Situations like this don't help, they just make more and more people hate a God and walk away without ever knowing the truth.

Fear. Even though Radical muslims are minority but when you see thousands of peole all throughout your country and the region then what could you say. The goverment needs to step in. To be completly honest the goverments are behind those terrorist organizations. They have those same ideals but can't say them because they are in politics so they fund organizations to fufill their desires and wants. That is why FEW radical islamic groups get tried and procecuted. If the goverment does nothing . What can you say to radicals who will even kill you?

i think the same as well , but I have read that its forbidden in quran to stand against fellow muslims. any ways most germans were not nazis but still they suffered. anything which is disciplined like nazism , fascism or communism is great in the start but after sometimes becomes the problem of everyone around.

I think if muslims want to really save themselves then they should declare all radicals as infidels or something so that they stop taking advantage of thier ideals , because l think most leaders in the world can already see it coming like the way they did it in the past.
