All I have seen the religion preaching is death, hatred, suicide bombing, blood, tears, war and vengeance, yet they say its a religion of peace. What is the definition of peace in islamic context?

In Western Civilisation we are basically a Christian people.
However, Islam believes it should spread itself all across the globe, taking over countries by stealth or by sword. Yes, is the answer to those who might ask, I have read the koran and was appalled by what I found in it.
True Christian thought, is peace and love, not to stand in judgement of others and to allow every religion to exist side-by-side.
It is however, the judgement of islam that this freedom of practice should not be so.

Well, if youre getting your sources of Muslims and Islam on the news, then yes, all youre hearing is blood and bombing, vengeance and death.
If you do some research on your own (e.g. read passages from the Qu'an or go to a Mosque and talk to the brothers and sisters there) you will find that being a Muslim is about forgiveness and peace.
Just like in ANY other religion there are good and bad. Sadly, the media keeps reinforcing all the bad stuff that SOME people are doing and not giving uniformed people a chance to form their own opinion.
As for the war. Blame Bush for that.

Because no followers of Islam have ever answered this question on Y!A, I am begining to believe that their definition of "peace" is the same one that was believed of Communism during the cold war:
"Peace is when all your enemies are dead." Yes, that must be the Islamic definition of peace based upon their track record since 732 AD.

If you refuse - you are an infidel and THE ENEMY.
They must kill the enemy!

Let's go back in my Christian history we have kill so many people because of religion so many have kill because someone was a witch or disbelief our history and present ,and let not forget about the Jews 80% of those guys was christian ,Islam have more good people that believe in peace lol let's not forget about our KKK and Nazi all are christian and will kill and have kill anyone that is not like them

They are going about rioting over the pope's statement. They are proving to the world how peaceful and tolerant they are. If you look at all the conflicts in today's world its gotta do with muslims vs other people. Muslims vs christians, muslims vs jews, muslim vs hindus, muslims vs buddhist and even one sect of muslims against the other sect of muslims. So much for their peace and tolerance.

it's only peace if you agree with their particular brand of Islam...they even hate and kill people of their own religion that disagree with them on points of doctrine or authority.....yeah really peaceful !

The only way you'll ever succeed in swaying people to agree is to change your own record of violence and intolerance.
