There is no such thing as a soul. Your thoughts are created by your brain. When you die, no more thoughts are produced. Therefore, you cease to be. It's no different from the way things were before you were born.

Adam "came to be a living soul," says Genesis 2:7. He did not receive a soul; he was a soul—a whole person. The Scriptures speak of a soul's doing work, craving food, being kidnapped, experiencing sleeplessness, and so forth. (Leviticus 23:30; Deuteronomy 12:20; 24:7; Psalm 119:28) Man himself is a soul. When a person dies, that soul dies.—Ezekiel 18:4. When pronouncing sentence upon Adam, God stated: "Dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3:19) Before God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and gave him life, Adam simply did not exist! When he died, Adam returned to that state of complete absence of life. The condition of the dead is made clear at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, where it says: "The dead know nothing . . . In the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." (New International Version) Scripturally, death is a state of nonexistence. The dead have no awareness, no feelings, no thoughts.

I can only answer from a spiritual view as i'm spiritual. It doesn't matter what happens to the body, the soul will go 1 of 2 places. Things will happen prior to this, as the Bible says He will call the souls up, some say they are in a place in between heaven and hell waiting to 'wake'. Also, all souls will go before God to be judged. The point of it is is that the body is dust so it doesn't matter where you put it once you're dead, the soul will go where it's suppose to go.

An example in the Bible is found in Luke 16:19-31, one was buried and one was not.

In Vodou burial is not necessary. Your little soul goes to heaven and your big soul goes under the water to where the ancestors are.

What is your views on this? Let's just wait and see what will happen to the refrigerated body of late Ferdinand Marcos of Philippines. To me all dead must return to the dust otherwise worms of the earth will be none!

air, land, sea or whatever way, the body will become dust and worthless but the soul will transient to await God's judgement whether to spend eternity in hell or heaven
the kind of death or burial accorded one has no effect on his soul afterwards.

The body becomes an empty shell and returns to the ground, by whatever means it finds.
The soul is instantly transferred to the next life.

God will rip it to pieces and burn it because it wasn't burried properly. (If you believe that kindly stand on your head).
People stupidly give way too much importance to dogma. God doesn't have a secretary and doesn't give dictation. His creation was already his message. Not the words of arrogant humans.
