Okay, now, I'm not one of those gung-ho christians who preaches everywhere I go, I don't prescan all my friends to make sure you have the perfect lifestyle.

I do profess my faith, though. The other day, someone said my profile was "Too preachy" and my friends were "too clean..."!

Can you give me your opinon? Be brutally honest.

Hi, TYLB,

I cannot access your site from work (due to the wonder of ludicruous workplace web-blocking software, wheee!), but I will look over it when I get home this evening and give you an opinion.

Christians sometimes do relate better to other Christians and have trouble recognizing how they'll be perceived by someone coming from a different background. Christianity really has developed its own "sub-culture" with which many non-Christians cannot relate.

While we do need to share our faith with others (which some people unfairly label as "preaching"), if our goal is to invite them to God and love them, we have to share our faith in a way that they will understand and find meaningful.

I'll give it a look-over and see if I can clarify what this person was saying.

Hey, I took a look at your site.

While I understand why a non-Christian might have reacted poorly to the Christian elements (including the song that comes on when the page is loaded), I do not think the page is "preachy."

It helps a great deal that you include a lot of other sorts of things (such as the results of your various personality tests) all over your page, so that not everything is specifically religious.

Nor did I think the friends whose pics appeared looked "too clean" to me.

Based on what I have seen out there, I wouldn't have labeled your page as preachy; I would have just gotten the distinct opinion that your Christian faith is a very big and important part of your life.

If you are comfortable with your page, don't change anything. It will appeal to some, and not to others, and that's perfectly okay.

Hope that helps. :)

I to profess the faith, I am not a perfect Christian. I make no bones about my faith but preachy is not what I am.

I am a long haired biker who believes in Jesus, I try and model my life in the manner in which he taught and lived. I am what I am and that I am not going to change. I have been in the presents of Hells Angels and other outlaw motorcycle clubs and I have preached in the pulpit and in both places I have just been myself.

See if you just live what you believe then you don't even have to say a word, your actions will spreak for you. See by our actions we either affirm the faith we believe or we by our actions condemn it. The real question is what are we doing with our actions.

I'm not Christian, but I don't think your profile is overly preachy. You're just being yourself! And you have as much right to be yourself and friend whoever you want as anyone else. Whatever you do, someone else is going to have a problem with it, so you may as well make yourself happy.

Oh for heaven's sake! If it's who you are, then don't worry about it! Your friends are "too clean"? Whatever. You're not going to go out and find new friends just because some myspace moron tells you to, are you? And your profile is "too preachy"? So maybe that person isn't someone who would be friends with you. who cares? Don't worry about it.

I LOVE IT!

Anyone who feels your profile is "too preachy" is feeling convicted. Don't let it bother you. Your friends do look "clean" and decent. What's wrong with that? Sister, be proud of who God has worked you to be ... you are HIS creation, a princess of the King!

That's my brutally honest opinion. May God bless and keep you.

Peace.

As me being a younger christian I encourage you to proclaim your faith. No matter what anyone says don't be afraid to let any one drag you down just because of religion. I will pray that God leads you to an answer that will make you learn to deal with faith and opinions of other people.
GOD BLESS YOU

TYLB, don't worry abou the criticism from the unbelievers...that's what they are suppose to do...

The Bible commands us to...
"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)
" Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy..."(1Tim.4:1)

Just remember those who hate you are also spoken of in Scripture:

"For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. (1 Peter 4:3)

If you believe in God, than you should believe in his Word. And this is what his word says in reference to your question.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

This means to preach the Word anytime it does not matter when it is it also states to reprove and rebuke, which means correct those that are wrong adn if the word says that they are wrong you can tell them that they are wrong. It also says with all doctrine meanting use the Book he gave us to use

You are doing what God called us to do. We are to be witnesses for Him. Don't not let the enemy come in and make you think something is wrong. The path is narrow, there are few who find it. Stay on the narrow path it will lead you right to Jesus and He will say "Well done my good and faithful servant."

STAND FIRM AND KEEP THE FAITH!

Love in Jesus' name

you shouldn't be worried about what people think--you only need to ask yourself one question--Is it edifying God? Be in the world, but not of it. If you are being persecuted, it means you are being a light. Be Blessed!!
