The 'twin' would be you.

Dreams come from our subconscience. Very often, we have dreams for a specific reason--but they can also be random events or thoughts we've had recently that come together in one dream. Because dreams are so personal, I am going to answer your question as if I had had the dream, instead of you. I cannot say that this is the meaning of your dream, but this is how I would interpret the dream if it were mine:
If I saw my twin smirking at me, I would consider it an insight into my relationships with others. My twin is smirking at me because she knows the real me--not the me that everyone else sees--and I can't "fool" her. Maybe I am not being genuine with one or several family members/friends.
That is how I would interpret the dream if the dream were my own. I hope that even if this isn't remotely how you feel, that you find this a least a little bit helpful. Thanks for reading and God Bless!

Dreams are about unresolved emotions in our conscious state. The scenes are designed to allow this resolution. As such a twin in a dream would mean you want to do something but lack the ultimate resolve. Having a twin do the job would absolve you from responsibility.

It depends if you believe in all that stuff. Find out the interpretation of the dream, you can buy books and there are on line sites you can go to. It probably doesn't mean what you think it does it will be something about your subconscious that you have underachieved or you are not happy within yourself.

You have to figure it out for yourself.

But if it was my dream, I would think that I was feeling conflicted about something, and that perhaps a part of me thought I was making a mistake, but not a huge one.

I think you mean twin as your look-alike sibling. In this case, that is your conscience, not your twins.
