Well, of course not. What about neighbors, his friends' parents, his friends themselves, his parents' straight friends, school, the media...?
People who say that ignore the fact that most gay and bi people had straight parents and practically no encouragement to be anything other than straight as kids.

I believe that the child will grow up with a higher tolerance of the gay lifestyle, and would be more prone to explore any homosexual feelings that manifested themselves in the child. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to the individual to decide. With the high divorce rate of heterosexual couples it's unfair to use the high break-up rate of homosexual couples as an argument against adoption (assuming the child is not a product of straight sex).
What were we talking about?

First off you dont learn to be gay---thats ridiculous. And if the child did end up being gay so what---being gay isnt wrong. The funny thing is people would probably blame the parents when it had nothing to do with them. I dont know why everyone has such a problem with gays. I mean seriously its 2006 wake up people are gay. Its really true!

I would love it if you posted a link to that previous question as I am curious to see that.
To answer your question, of course that won't be the only influence on the child. Gay people have and will continue to raise perfect healthy and happy straight and gay children.

I don't see nothing wrong for a homosexual couple to raise a child. The kid is going to choose it on path. I believe he will just be more opened mind and respect other peoples feelings, and ways of living.

I don't think the friend will be gay. I know someone who had two mothers, and that's a little wacko...
(he says it like this: my mother's girlfriend (pause) is not strait (pause)
But it's kind of creepy, and they don't go braging a lot. Some three year olds might say, "I'm specail - I have TWO mommies..." Would be my only concern in long-run.
Otherwise, I'd say pretty daggone normal...

I know children raised by gay parents who are happily married and straight. I agree with you. There are many influences in children's lives.

No, they will grow up perfectly normal, and the so-called 'gay behaviour' is not something that is learned. You either are gay or you aren't.
