I'm an atheist but have been a christian a long time ago. I am all for people having beliefs but i'm simply in pursuit of the truth, if the truth turns out to be god then fair enough. What do you think about those people who follow the religions without question and simple repeat what they are told? I feel you can only truely be a balanced follower or atheist if you have seen multiple aspects of the argument. Thoughts?

Catholics christen by sprinkling water over babies heads and they believe that is sufficient. Some other churches say that full immersion is absolutely required to be baptised. Does the fact that someone is not fully immersed mean they will not find the Kingdom Of God?

There were many times that Jesus prayed to his father. Does it make sense that he would pray to him self? Also, do you think it is possible that he resurected himself after his death?

Read John 17:1-5 Jesus was praying to his father here concerning the fact that God had sent him to the earth to do his will, John 17:1-5 says 1 Jesus spoke these things and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour has come ; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you, 2 according as you have given him authority over all flesh, that, as regards the whole number whom you have given him, he may give them everlasting life, 3 This means everlasting life their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ.

Skipping to verse 5,

So now you, Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.

Every verse I saw said nothing of it, some even appeared to have the word marriage in a different context, as in Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.(Matthew 22:4) Sounds more like its talking of marriage and wedding as a great feast, not a man and woman being joined in "holy matrimony"

i hear time after time that the radicals have hijacked islam.
i submit that they have sligtly perverted it for personal gain but that the majority subscribe to the aims of islam which has violence and evil at it's core.
am intelligent enough to know there are moderates in everything.
for those of you who say you know moderate muslims,i would bet that they are present in the US.
the rest of the muslim world are not and those are the ones i fear.
whenever there occurrs an insult, attack on islam or they perceive one what is the result?
violence!.rioting,people dieing,desire to kill the offender(s).

I was reading about making a basic wand, and most sites say driftwood is the best. I don't have any driftwood... I live in the mountains and it's very hard to find. They said other sticks will do, but I was wondering... would bamboo work? I have many bamboo trees in my backyard. It is smooth and very tough.

And if not what's the point of being here? You're born, spawn children, you die, your children spawn children then die, what's it all about? Could it be that this life is a preparation for something else? Could this physical body be seperate from the spirit? Could the 'spirit' or whatever be outside of the body and therefore still 'be' when the body dies? Think of a mobile phone.......you're talking to someone on the phone then you drop the phone and it smashes to bits, the person you were talking to doesn't die like your phone does. Could it be the same with the body and soul?

That would eliminate religion in one go. All the mythical gods and godesses, angels and demons could all be relegated to the dustbin of history. After all, none of it can be proved and, in fact, there is no evidence for any of it either.
