I see a lot of questions asking if there is an afterlife. People almost always say yes.

If you think we can please explain how.

Below are just a few of the things that I do not understand:

*How is it that we can think without a brain?
*What purpose would the brain serve if not for thinking.
*Why do chemicals effect the way we think.
*Why is it possible for a brain injury to completely change the personality of a person.

I have been told I am closed minded for not believing in an afterlife. I just find that there is to much evidence suggesting we require a brain to have a consciousness. From so many cases of people with brain damage we can form a basis of how the brain is required and what occurs to people if they experience brain damage.

While I believe in forces of nature being required for thought, I believe the brain is responsible for organizing such forces of nature (take chemical reactions for an example) and the result is our conscious.

Is it a thing that resides within us? Is it tied to one of our organs? Is it an innate part of our being and not a thing unto itself? Is it an expression of our spiritual nature and not a thing or part?

Are you secure in your belief, whether it be atheism, Islam or Christianity?
Is God more to you than a cross on your neck or a picture on your wall? Is He more than a symbol or is He just something you like to talk about every now and then, but not take too seriously?

Please, no stupid answers. I'm looking for mature, rational thought, not some juvenile debate.

“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them.” (8:12)

“Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the “jizya” (poll tax) with the hand of humility.” (9:29)

“Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly on them; thereafter is the time for either generosity or ransom; until the war lays down its’ burdens. (47:4-6)

If Christians were behaving like Al-Qaida, our leaders would rise up and remove them (excommunicate). So don't make the excuse that it is not Islam, just a band of rebels. If you are Muslim and in a religion of peace, prove it. You speak so loudly by your silence.

The pope shouldn't have said thoses remarks he should have known it would have offened muslims but at the same time muslims(not all) shouldn't be going around burning churches and killing nuns.there is fault on both sides here.

will the antichrist. Look at the muslims preaching peace when

there is no peace, preaching brotherhood when they kill

themsleves, preaching harmony where they are not at all loyal to

the countries they live and feed from? What is your opinion?

I alighted from my car and covered her lifeless body with a piece of cloth. My 4 year old son fell sick a day after I had witnessed that accident. Do you think the girl's spirit followed me home? Did my son fall sick because he saw the girl's ghost? Whenever I drive past the accident spot I still see the girl's torn shoes exactly where they were on the day of the accident, are the shoes real?

Does it help you people sleep at night, the thought of having a guardian angel? Or is it like professionaly wrestling, where everyone knows it's fake but still watch it anyway for fun, and while we're watching, we start to not care even if its all an act?
