I am so sick of having to "tip-toe" around Muslims!!! What the Pope said was not his personal opinion. He was quoting a medieval text; just like teachers and professors do all the time around the world. Give me a break!!! The Pope does not owe the Muslims an apology for his so called "derogatory comment." People need to get over it......

This is not the first time a pope made such remarks. The first time, it was to the Christian a long time ago. And christian does not resort to any violence but to prayer and supplication and forgiveness to those who directly and indirectly afficted them.
Judaism would probably not resort to violence, but to the exchange of views and opinions regarding their religious supremacy over the other. They have the power to do so, becasue they have seen the living God whom they worship in the image of Yeshua thier messiah.
As to Islam "Actions speaks louder than words"

1. CIA would have "found out" that Vatican and Al-Qeda had "links".
2. US Spy satellites would have "spotted" a nuclear facility under St.Peter's Basilica.
3. There would have been a UN resolution to "discipline" Vatican.
4. The War Against Terror would have opened a new front.

What the Pope said about Islam was not derogatory; it was the truth.
People have always said bad things about the Jews and they never killed because of this.

No. Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism could all handle it. They'd issue censures and be affronted all right but without all of the violent tantrums we are seeing from the Islamic world.
Islam takes itself very seriously and has no mechanism for self evaluation and absolutely no sense of humor or perspective regarding itself. Sure signs of a huge lack of confidence.

their would have been public outrage and condemnation. Ties between the Vatican and Israel would be severally strained if not cut. and people would refer to the Pope's German history and call him a Nazi and warn of new waves of anti-Semitic attacks.
as for the burning of churches as what happened by Arabs in the west bank, no Jews would not resort to violence

who knows, but it sure would not be death and murder and arson. Why are not the muslims protesting Iran saying they want to wipe another country off the face of the earth? or that millions of Jews were never murdered in the holocost?
We all realise by the actions of muslims that they are following a bankrupt religion and have no basis for their complaints. They get what they deserve which is disdain from all right thinking people.

Same to some degree.
After all, Pope Benedict the XVI was a Nazi youth.

Outrage, apology, end of story. This really took the cake away from Mel Gibson's racist remarks this year.
